Wow! Recently posted on my local clubs Facebook page! There is also a guy claiming that Ich is present in every tank, and cannot be cured or eliminated, and a lot of people are actually agreeing with him.

Wow. However since I spend a lot of time in the fish diseases forum, nothing surprises me any longer.

Second dude is talking about freshwater fish and he's not wrong. I've done that before and it works. Freshwater Ichthyophthirius multifiliis is not the same disease as Cryptocaryon irritans, which is why I call "marine ich" crypto to try to avoid confusion.

Steve I posted a link to a couple of your threads but it fell on deaf ears. They all just KNOW Ich is in every tank and cannot be beat.

Maybe I'm missing the point, but why is what was posted 'stupid'? Second guy is clearly talking about FW ich (and what he proposed does work, to a degree). I think the OP misread

That ich is present in all marine tanks is a long held, persistent view amongst many reefers. I've even heard it from LFS that I respect. While the statement, in and of itself, is inherently incorrect, I suspect that ich is present in a lot of tanks whose owners would believe otherwise. For example, my 265 has ich and has had for some years now. Most of my fish are asymptomatic, and we're it not for my Achilles tang showing occasional spots, I'd probably have sworn to you that my tank were ich free.

We try to refrain from linking other forums/boards/posts to critique statements that the original poster has no way to respond to.
