I got a fever! bowhunter support group needed!

Aim small, miss small!

Exactly! My cousin used to just try and shoot at the target. When I taught him to pick out a tiny piece of paper, a hair, or a very small target, it helped immensely. Don't shoot at a deer, in the kill zone, shoot at a tiny tuft of hair in the kill zone. Focusing that closely on a small piece of hair can help take off the nerves also.

Already had a big eight in. Couldn't get him in bow range. 40 yds at closest clear shot but within 20. Spooked off by idk what. I didn't move and I spray myself down liberally with earth scent before heading in. Hopefully something else will come through.

Had some does pass in the evening yesterday ,still haven't seen a shooter buck.Planning to wait it out through the weekend ,if that fails Im taking a doe.

Washed all my gear again last night and of course it wasnt dry this morning.Getting ready now to head out now.
GL all.

And same thing with a good six an hour later. Looking at my brother in laws stand its not in the perfect place. Too small a tree and no cover close enough to it. We'll be moving it soon.

Well two high shots in a week and I'm done. Did find some small tears in my fletching wonder if that's enough to throw this off. I will admit this was a good monster and he had me rattled this am. Gonna put the block in the yard and the ladder next to my garage and not come down for a while.

At least you're seeing deer. I've only seen TWO total. I need to buy land. Its such a hassle to look all year and wind up with 2 5 acre spots.

i have been lucky enough to be drawn to hunt on a conservation area 2 years in a row i basically go out and watch deer play and wait around for a big one to shoot. pretty interesting watching them play around with no idea your up in a tree

Well after some shooting I realized the broadheads are to blame. Didn't practice enough with the muzzy so back to the rage which shoots straighter for me.

Nothing here either ,and I cant belive it.I haven't even seen a doe in 2 days whitch is really rare.

Dont know how you some of the other guys are doing but I had to head back to the house.Swirling winds that I hope will die down by this evening,if not Im calling it a day.
Brown its down now.

What do you guys think about "peak rut predictions"? Theres some skeptism on exactly when this is.Full moon? whats your thought...

Struck out again today ,9 minus 9 as far as even seeing a deer.

I hit something tonight! A big rock which busted up my broadhead. I missed a big doe. I thought she was 25 yards away, so put my 30 yard pin on her a little low and let it rip. Perfect shot if she was actually 25 yards away. The arrow flew about 3 inches behind her front leg and missed 3 inches low. When she took off I got out the rangefinder. Turns out she was 34 yards away.

I saw lots of deer today, probably 10 total. They were definitely moving, so the rut is definitely starting. I'd guess when it gets cold at the end of the week, it should be at full swing. I think I'm going to be out all weekend next weekend.

Got one :)

Missed that guy on Saturday, then missed him with my first shot & loudly expressed my displeasure & and couldn't believe my eyes when he stopped, turned around and walked back to almost the same spot. He shouldn't have given me the do over :)
