I need help...having diffeculties with my zoa's!

how is everything going on u end reef junkie!?! im happy to say that my zoa's are doing great! i am building my refugium/sump this weekend...i cant wait!

im finished school in 1 week...yes...and i hope that in the near future that i can come up there...right now im in the process of building my sump/refugium...

o yea and the zoa's...there doing fantastic...i will post a pic on monday...

question...when zoa's stay closed for a long time...will the skirt or little fingers get really tiny? because i now think that my zoa's are all fully open but the green on the end is much smaller then they use to be...

glad yo here that everything is going well at your house!

I wish I could say it was. I am so stressed about my tank. It's 10 miles away from me and I have to go there tomorrow to do maintenance.
I need to take a chill pill and relax a bit.

Thanks for the assurance Ant, but I just need to get it here. I have limited time left at the other place to move it too. plus, I'm locked down doing side work all weekend... I need a valium.

i think the current is ok...i have around 400 gph but i think it might be more around 300 (i dont think my canister filter is really putting out 264 gph) but thats ok b/c in a few days i will have my sump/fuge up and running...at that point i will have anywere from 500-600 gph...i'll keep you updated (might have to start a new thread haha!)

my fuge/sump is complete and up and running...im very happy with it...but now i am trying to create some sort of rock formation with the extra rock i got for my system...i played around with it last night for a few hrs and then i had to tell myself to stop and begin the artwork agian this morning...haha

how are you doing and your system?

o yea im finished school so hopefully we can work something out and i'll take a day trip up!?!

That is great news!

Well, my tank isn't doing as well. I lost all of my fish in the move and hopefully won't lose all of my corals too.
Ah the joys of reefkeeping.

So far my corals have been hanging in there, but they look stressed. I finally had time to plumb the system yesterday and I will have it on-line this evening. I did a test run yesterday and it ran flawlessly.
I was able to change some water yesterday, tonight I will filter the craip out of the water.
If my camera was working, I'd shoot some pictures.

Thanks for your support.;)

watch your levels daily and try to move them closer, you could try to frag them and give some to a friend to see if they open or put the frag in your if you have one.

Andy, I think I have them stabilized. This isn't the first time I've had to do this and I know that even with all of my efforts, they could all die. So I'm not going to get too worked up. I have done everything I can, now it's time to sit and wait.

They looked really PO'd last night, but I think they will open today. I'll find out when I get home tonight.

Hey Bill,
Keep us informed as I could have some frags of some stuff I have to help replenish you if the worst case comes true. Hopefully it doesn't, but as we all know when it come to setting up new tanks we aren't always in total control.

Thanks Azurel, that is really thoughtful of you.
I have a good feeling most will survive. They looked stressed, but will be ok. I know I lost my Lord of the Rings colony, but I have a friend that has about 50 polyps that I gave him. I'll just have to tax him now.

I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks again!
