It was an accidental split to begin with, so I'd say any survival rate is a success.

The other half is still alive. I wish I had been able to put them in a larger more stable environment. I think they both would have made it. I never had any hair algae in my big tank. Small tanks are harder to control for sure. I'm getting control of it slowly.
