I-Tech Skimmer Club .

Okay guys, I definitely need some help on the I.D. of the inlets and outlets of the Aquabee as it comes for the DAS skimmers. I ran the Aquabee I got with a DIY venturi that is restricted down using a 3/4slip to 1/2 threaded extender/nipple and it's pulling too much water. For my outlet I have a sch 40 3/4 slip union over the small nub on the pump and then out to 3/4 sch 40 pipe into the skimmer. Even at the lowest setting I'm pushing microbubbles and overflowing the skimmer. I'll email John in a second, but I figure there may be someone here that knows the I.D. of the inlet and outlet off hand.

Thanks,
Chris

Odds are, I'm going to have to machine something either way, so I just need to know the dimensions. Metric or SAE doesn't matter to me as long as it's associated with whatever value is provided.

Thanks,
Chris

interested in the model 100, and 200... can i find pricing online or is it still over the phone only?

you have to call or email for the price ..i would list it but i dont want to get anyone in trouble.I talked to him and he is very nice and i am waiting to see how the tunze pump performs on the 100.I am hopeful that the 100 will be enough for the 125 g volume i have as i cant afford the 200:)

Emster (Tank of the month last month) has a 100 on 140 gallons total water volume. I think you should be ok with 125 gallons.

No good one stop shopping on the needlewheeled version of the Sicce at the moment. I had an octopus extreme 160 with the 2500, and the MSX pinwheel defiinitely pulled more air than the Coralvue unit. But the Coralvue restrictor/venturi is nicer than the MSX one. I had heard rumors about Reef Specialty (Coralvue distributor) working on an improved pinwheel. If that comes to fruition, it'd probably be a slightly better package (once the new pinwheel is proven to outperform the standard Coralvue pinwheel).

As I understand it, Tunze is also working with John on the 9420 skimmer pump. It costs more than the Sicce, but I Tunze customer service is top notch. You might want to dig back through this thread, or better yet, email John about the latest updates on the 9420 working with the Medium/200 body.

Is this the Needle wheel upgrade you were talking about? This is over a 50% increase in airflow. Apparently they have limited quantities of them at Reef Specialty.

anyone recieve the new batch of cones yet?>...
im still waiting...and dont feel like harrasing john every few weeks about status..
i was told sometimes in mid march the new batch will start to ship out...

As of right now there are 3 pinwheels readily available (though it looks like the ATB might be sold out for the moment) for the Sicce PSK 2500 (which you can buy for around $85 without a pinwheel). Any of these merely require you to remove the exisiting impeller and reinstall the pinwheel. I only had a Coralvue and MSX to use on my Octo Extreme 160, but the MSX/Marine Solutions pinwheel definitely produced a more stable foam head. I've had an ATB pinwheel on an Eheim 1250 and it's a similar design to the purple wheel in that thread. In the Eheim application that design hung in there with meshwheels only giving up a couple LPH. So if you are looking to buy a Sicce PSK 2500 to power your i-Tech, I'd see if I could get the ATB pinwheel. If you can get the pump from Marine Solutions with their pinwheel, then try that first, and see if you need the upgrade to the ATB pinwheel.

From my experience with the i-tech 100, the skimmer produces more skimmate with less throughput (air and water) than previous non-cone skimmers I've owned which include the Octo Extreme 160 and a Euroreef CS6-2.

Let me ask you guys I have a 150 total volume heavily stock with fish. I am running the msx 200 which is doing a great job. My question does it worth it to switch to the cone? Space is very limited the 200 fit just fine how much room do I need and how height does the water line has to sit on the skimmer

Well they just changed the info on reef specialty and it says it actually is the pinwheel manufactured by ATB. But honestly im still holding out for the Tunze!

Fellow Reefers just buy an I-TECH, you will love it just like I went from a BK Mini 180 to an I-TECH 100....

I went to the site, however I could not find a rating for how many gallons these skimmers are rated for. I am planning a 200 gallon and would like to know about the I-tech 200.

tor101898 I would think a med should be fine. You will have pick which pump to use also. Maybe by the time the skimmer comes in the tunze 9420 hydrofoamer will up to speed.
