Here's one of my 200's on my 155

This is only 3 day after full vinegar bath cleaning.

Yeap I still have my 200 and I am going to put it back in my tank, it was oversized for the bio load and now my fish are much bigger I think it will work great again. I have a 120 mixed reef.

My 100 with the internal Tunze pump is one of the best purchases I've made over the years. Still running it but it's way overkill for my system. Will go back to a bigger tank someday and this piece of equipment will still be kicking ***.

showing some love to itech

my lifereef had a crack on the external output. sent it back to jeff to repair. kind of annoyed to be honest. found a used itech100 for my 55g office tank on here for 100 bucks.

bought it. it's 100. whatever. good for back up. well i am impressed. put it in the sump and open the valve completely. very very quiet.

hahaha. yeah it's good. we will see how well it skims over the weekend but the pump is only pushing 16watts compared to my lifereef. Don't know why you got rid of it but I'm sure glad you did at that price point! thank you sir!

I-Tech Skimmer Club .

So yesterday I got a really good deal on a RLSS R-8i. Cleaned it up and put it side by side to an i-Tech200.

Both are rated about the same air draw and tank size. The itech is running the tunze hydrofoamer 9420 and the rlss is running a waveline 6000. So when I get my 300 back up and running I'll test the two skimmers out.
I did do a fresh water test with both skimmers in the same tank.

Witch skimmer looks to have better bubble movement?

Skimmers just don't work in FW get both of them running in SW and do the comparsion again.

Yes I know, but the pump still draws in air. And to me it looks like the itech would have the better contact time with the water and bubbles. The bubbles travel upwards with less turbulence in the itech.

I have an I-Tech 200 that I am setting up in my first aquarium build. How many inches of water should the skimmer sit in for the best performance?
