Wooohooo...my Medium(Model 200) will arrive Monday and I will be an official I-Techy. Looking over the thread's, it's seem like break-in time is minimal and vinegar bath is not necessary. I'm wondering if I should run both skimmers until the Cone starts kicking in??

How long did it take from the point the you order it until it is ready to ship. Thanks in advance

what pump is are y'all using on the 400? I talked to john a while back and he was recommending the askoll pump, now I see that they are recommending to run 2 sicces...

I would say a good month and a half. I initially squeaked in on one batch of cone's then decided to wait on the Tunze pump. The tunze pump had further delay's so I finally caved in and asked him to send the medium out on the next batch. My timeframe is probably not a good indicator since I caused a lot of the delay.

I am sure that has been covered many times, but I am going to ask again. Where do I purchase one of these skimmers? I have been to www.ichthythings.com but I was not able to find the skimmers on their website. Do I need to email them to order one of these?

Mine was delivered and sitting in a bush somewhere near my front door, can't wait to crank that booger up tonight. I still have the question of it needing a vinegar bath or not, to help reduce break-in period.

Got mine and boy does this thing deliver

Fits perfectly in my 20H sump... Not going to need a 30g sump, unless I want to add a fuge (which I still might do).

The egg-crate stand I built to get it to the proper water level. It sits in pretty shallow water. Needed to be about 6" and my current water level was about 9". So I needed to build a 3" stand. Egg-crate worked nicely:

It's already got a head of foam built up... Can't see the head though, because of the condensation in the collection cup. It came from off my front door and it's still a little chilly. You can see the foam transition:

Does this thing overflow everytime I shut the pump off? I usually dose aminos/feed with the skimmer off and the water shot right up the skimmer neck when I turned the skimmer on after shutting it off for feeding.

Mine does not overflow never has. I don't turn mine off anymore even when cleaning the cup. It's going to get better and better as it get older, mine skimmed best after 2 months of use.
