I-Tech Skimmer Club .

Will the itech 100 cone be able to handle heavily stocked 120g sps tank? With possible 40g frag tank down the road and 20-30g sump, and 20-30g fuge.
50g resivour to do waterchanges ~ this is a big maybe

My max total water volume ill ever have will be approx 200-250gallons.

You might want to look at the 200.

how do you get on the list? do you have to call them?

i have a space of 17x 15x 30 tall that i can use for this skimmer, would the 200 fit? would it ship out with the new pump?

This may sound like a stupid question, but how do you know if the pump starts backwards or not?

Would this be a reason for my cup overflowing/bubbles rushing up the skimmer on startup?

If the pump starts backwards then the normal water line/foam height would decrease, and inversely when it started the right way. Your issue sounds more like an issue with the pump you are using, is this a pump you already had??

Here's my Model 200, with the last three day's worth of poo poo juice. :D

WoW :eek2:

I'm in line for a 200, which pump did you go with?

I went with the sicce pump since the Tunze is not available yet. If you read back a few pages I list the pinwheel I went with.

Cheers,

I'm in. Just bought the 100 (+ AB) for my 30 sps (15 sump) zeo system. I'll report back once I get it.

Wow thats a pretty small tank for this skimmer, I got a 150 total heavy load (lots of coral) and its just loafing(don't got it turned up) Just a heads up but you might over skim it be careful. Not really sure what will happen but I'm curious keep us posted.

I have an MSX 160(with an Octo Ext 160 volute and PW) on the tank presently. The tank has just finished cycling. The problem with the 160 is that IMO it requires a certain level of organics to produce a stable foam (as with any skimmer - but more so with this one). After speaking with John for about 30 minutes, we concluded that the minimum level of organics required for decent foam production will probably be less with the 100 - less air draw plus more stable foam from the cone design. That's my thinking anyway.

In any event, I don't believe one can overskim a zeovit tank (or perhaps any tank)- but that's a whole other thread.
