Ice storm in Kentucky

We got hit by the ice storm on Tuesday, Jan 27th and lost power early that morning and didn't have power restored until Sunday, Feb 1st. We did manage to keep the furnace running most of the time from a generator and took turns aerating and heating the tanks as best we could. Our main reef tank did fall below 74 degrees, but for the most part we were able to keep the tanks above 75. We lost 6 fish between the 3 tanks and some SPS colonies & frags but most everything else looks like it should recover. I'm going to try and post some pictures, hopefully this will work.

This is a view of the street in front of the house on Wednesday the 28th.

Our back yard (the bassett hound is still gunshy from falling limbs).

And the shed.

We still are without cable, phone, and internet but we have it better than many people around us. Some are being told that their power will be out for several more weeks. Also, we will be better prepared in the future.

Wow Guys! Holy Cow, you did have it bad. I didn't realize that it was so bad that close to us, I really wish we had thought about it, we could have offered some help, taking fish, corals, etc. Glad to here that the tanks made it through relatively intact. If you two need ANYTHING, please call us. I'll give you a call tomorrow and see if I can get in touch.

Sorry to hear you guys got hit bad. Like Matt, I didn't realize you guys got hit that hard. If you need anything just let me know.

I hope everything is better now I drove up to SD that Thursday and wondered how many of you guys were affected. It looked pretty bad driving through it.
