Ice storm in the Midwest

On Monday we had a major winter storm that pelted us with sleet and freezing rain. A large portion of the area lost power, including me. Some in the area are still without power. I had to purchase a generator to keep my tanks alive. I believe everything survived.

I hope everyone else is ok from this storm.

As damaging as the storm was, it provided some beautiful photo opportunities.

We had a storm here last year like that. Made for great scenery and images for a while. The sun shining through the trees just glistened for what seemed like forever before it melted off all together.

Used to live in Springfield, MO ... don't miss those storms.

Now, we just get the quantity in a single storm.

Normally I would tell you that you can keep your 16" of snow. But this time around I would have traded you. The ice was terrible. Luckily it warmed up some yesterday and the sun was out so most of it melted from the lines and trees. There are still homes without power and some will not get it back until early next week.

That's crazy! Everything has a sheet of ice. We only get frosty windows.
