ID my new algae

Doesn't look like nemastoma. Maybe Scinaia complanata. Either one, nice algae for a planted tank or refuge.

I have some in my tank, but mine's more on the purple side. It's pretty heavily calcified, the branches are very stiff. I've had it for about three months now...it's very slow growing, finally sprouting new branches. I have no idea of what it's actually called, it was sold to me as purple codium by my coral guy ;)

If you have astreas in the tank, they'll take chunks out of the branches. It heals within a week or so, but be warned. That's the only macro they attack.

good call on the Scinaia complanata. i would agree that is likely the algae i recieved today.

ive had astreas eat graciliaria before, ill keep an eye on them.

Just ordered some of this myself. Looks like a pretty neat one. I hope it goes well, I haven't had much luck with the stuff I've bought from him before. To be clear everything arrived in good order and everything looked healthy, it just hasn't done well in my tanks.

Bought this and some String of Pearls. Obviously I don't dislike this vendor otherwise I wouldn't be ordering from them again.
