Online Marine Fish Retailers

Hi, I'm fairly new to posting on this site. Does anyone have any experience with or comments about purchasing livestock from Saltwaterfish.com and or BlueZoo Aquatics? I've used LiveAquaria.com with good results. I'd appreciate any input that you could offer, including other sites to purchase fish from. Thanks. 7of8Zab

Glad to be a new member of RC ... I have about 15 years of knowledge when it comes to freshwater and have finally took the step towards saltwater. I have a Nano 12 thats is only 2 months old. I will be needing guidance so please be patient with me.

Hi all!
bought a second hand 120l marine tank with a small inheritance, and have set up from scratch over the last 2 weeks. Added first fish today (ocellated dragonet and splendid wrasse) to go with the hermits, snails and two fire shrimp. The kids love it (so do I) and it will hopefully fuel their enthusiasm to dive with me when they are older.

Planning clownfish and a cardinal (bengai or pyjama maybe) but it's only a small tank!

Hello
Im Timmy from northeast Louisiana. I just bought a 115G tank second hand. I currently have a 30G long tank that going to be my sump. I an working on building a reef tank. I have no salt water experience at all. I joined this forum because everything i research, I end up on this site.

Hi. My name is Heather and my husband and I just recently started our first saltwater reef tank. We have a JBJ 29g Nano. It started out as his thing but I have quickly fallen in love and last week we went and picked up a 180g tank that we will be starting on as soon as we get back from vacation in 2 weeks. We have wanted to do a tank for as long as I can remember so finally, after months of research and learning we took the plunge and haven't looked back. I have really glad I found this site, I have learned a ton and spend way to much time on here during the day just reading. I find it much more informational than just the article you find online since there is so much personal experience here. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. :)

Hello Everyone

Hello Everyone

Hi guys, wanted to introduce myself here as I've been looking around the site for a while but have not posted anything yet. I have a 40 gallon breeder saltwater tank that I've been running for about 8 months now. I've got 2 clowns, a royal gramma basslet, and a couple of corals. This has been my first go at setting up a tank so I'm learning lots and just trying to have fun along the way.

Hi All

Hi All

I am new to the reefkeeping and have been reading through these forums for the past few months getting ready for a reef tank. Thank you all for the info.

Im kinda new to RC been reading post and such , made a post or 2 before but it got lost in the mix lol. Sooo many people on here !!!! I live in Mass. have been reefing for a year and a half and went big straight away with a dual 210 set up in my basement . One tank is softies and LPS the other all SPS . learned a few things the hard way but I feel I am getting on track now Both tanks run halides now but I am thinking of switching to Leds for the softy tank to save some energy . I have a set of Pac sun tritons in my sights . anyone have any thoughts on these ?

Hi Everyone,

I have been reading every thread that I can over the past two months and appreciate all of the information here. I currently have a 90g Marineland single overflow. This is my second tank overall but I failed miserably the first time. I have made it through the cycle and currently have a CUC, 2 clowns, and a scooter blenny.

Hey folks,
I read threads on here sometimes and you guys seem pretty friendly, so I thought I'd join. I recently picked up a 150 gallon reef ready all-glass-aquarium tank. I finally have everything situated in the tank and I'm working on the cycle. The only thing I don't have set up the way I want it is my lighting, but I'm workin on it. It is FOWLR, no corals, not quite good at keeping those things alive, so I have artificial coral inserts.

Hi! New here - I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and reading the various FAQ threads but am now really getting into the research phase of looking to set up my first SW tank and thought it was probably time to start posting. :)

I'm doing a 35 gallon FOWLR tank that will house a mantis shrimp (Species TBD, leaning towards g. smithii at the moment) and maybe some interesting macroalgae and snails. (Which yes, I'm aware, they will get eaten. As long as it doesn't upset the water chemistry, some shrimpsnacks are okay, and I won' be putting anything expensive in!) Tank will have a 10 gallon sump but I'm still really uncertain about skimmer (in sump is my preference) and well... everything else. :P I might want to try some of the easier soft corals in the future, but that's a ways down the road yet!

Anyway, hi!

Heyyyyyyyy!

So listen, im new to all of this forum stuff so bear with me here.

I'm a young teen whos been into this hobby for my entire life. It all started on a cold Michigan morning on December 25, 2005. I woke up - and there it was - my first tank, a little 10 gallon that was gping to live the rest of its life as a goldfish and frog tank. Fast forward 5 years and boom, i ditched the goldfish and purchased a 46 gallon bowfront, an AC110, and other enssentials. Being the moron i was - i hopped into the saltwater world with little to no knowledge at all. I went through a Purple Tang, Cole Tang, Niger Triggerfish, and Blue line Clown all in 3 years. The tank was a total wreak and money pit. With over $250 of livestock down the drain, i did the unthinkable and trashed the tank and threw away nearly $1000. Being 13 years of age at the time, it devastated me. So now, 2 years later - here i am.

Now im looking into a Pico Reef (nothing is set in stone yet). But my idea is to have no coral (not yet atleast). and two tiny, hardy fish. For sure a Goby and maybe a Damsel or Chromis. But i have no clue what to do about filtration.

My list so far is this:
- 5 gallon tank
- 5lbs of live sand (i might go sandless)
- 5-6lbs of live rock
- 2.5 gallons of water out of an already established 250 gallon reef
- the rest of the water will be hand mixed
- a test kit
- a cheaper heater
- a cheap thermometer
- a clip on 10-LED light (no corals in this tank)
- a power head
- some form of filtration (HELP)

i have a very slim budget - try to stay as cheap as possible. Any ideas? Email me - MichiganIsMyHomeState@gmail.com

Hello,

I've been reading and researching the last few months. I made the jump and started this adventure 2 weeks ago by purchasing everything I needed. I have a 65g DT and 20 gallon sump. I am now 8 days into my cycle(using live rock). I look forward to interacting with you all.

thanks,

Hello my name is Kyle. I'm new to the site but i have been doing Fish only tanks for around 8yrs and i am looking to branch out in to more things. Hopefully if i have any issue or things i am unfamiliar with this place will help! Thanks in advance!

Hey fellow reef lovers!! I'm braiden, i am 15 years old and have been around fish since i was a lil baby! my mum always kept African cichlids, Angelfish, and plecs. In 2010 i asked mum if i could get a couple of fish, after i got given a 20l tank. i then kept upgrading until i got my current tank a 3ft freshwater tank for my 13th birthday! i always loved reefs, but never thought about getting one, until a youtuber i watch got a 300 gallon mixed reef! i instantly said to myself ''that's it, imma get a reef when im older, that was at the end of last year, since then my passion for reefs has grown and i research 24/7!! I have been reading these forums for a while now, being one of my main sources for research and i finally joined!!!! :D :p
