hey everyone, I'm Danielle from Las Vegas!
i've been keeping freshwater fish all my life but recently decided to take the dive and try a saltwater tank! I have a 56g column tank with a satellite orbit marine LED strip. I haven't added any live sand or rock yet, taking this all very slowly and doing as much research as I can!

Greetings, I am Don from San Jose CA but moving to Lehi UT area very shortly.
I am looking at re-entering the saltwater aquarium hobby after a 25 year break. I had a successful 55 gallon FO for better than 5 years but the house we currently own does not have a place for a tank so I set this hobby aside. Being retired from hi-tech and moving to be closer to family, our new house will have a place for a reef tank. I am very excited about getting back into aquariums!
I am amazed at all the changes and pleased to see the the Internet is for a lot more than porn...lol. YouTube has been a great help for learning, as are the forums and other online sites.
Anyhow, I am looking forward to getting to know you folks and to learning.

I'm Chad and am from eastern PA. I am just starting to get into the hobby and am piecing all the equipment then buying my tank hopefully next year. In the time until then I am trying to learn as much as possible so I don't have a mass extinction in my tank when I start it.

I'm Geoff from Merritt Island, Florida.. I'm about 2 weeks into this so I'm totally new. Setting up a 220g reef tank. I have the tank in place & piped up but still have to put in the rock etc. I decided to set up a water making station before I finished the tank. Already found some great advice on here & I'm already using some of it with my build.. It's getting interesting..

Hello everyone! I joined this site a few years back, did some research, and realized I had a lot more learning/saving to do. It took a few years, but I kept reading and collecting equipment, and now I am FINALLY reefing! Happy to be here, I have learned a ton reading these forums!

What's up Reefers? I'm new to the marine side of aquaria, I'm a long time fresh water guy and have been wanting to move over into salt water for a long time. My marine aquarium is a 90 gallon bow front. It's been up for about a month now and just finished cycling without livestock. Sunday I added my first bit of live stock with a Clown and two Humbug Damsels. It's got quite a bit of live rock and sand in it as well but no where near the aqua scape I have planned. I have a lot to learn about this side of the hobby and I feel this is a great place to do that. See ya around the forums!
Hi everyone. I'm new to the saltwater side of the hobby and to forums. I've been reading all the great info on this forum and recently pulled the trigger on a new RSM Max E 260. I've kept freshwater tanks before and have always lusted after the saltwater tanks but didn't have the time to properly research and set up the tank. In between jobs and now I have the time and wife's approval so taking advantage of the window. Looking forward contributing to the forum.

Hi guys I'm Jiffy and I recently joined the forum.
I already have a noob question:
I recently cycled a 30 gallon tank with live rock I purchased online. About 2 weeks after my ammonia and nitrite went to 0. I started getting some irregular shaped bright orange spots on some of the LR. And if I turn the blue up on my kessil, they glow like corals. Does anyone know what that orange spots are? they seem to be getting bigger.

So I rather impulsively bought a saltwater aquarium from someone who was moving and couldn't take it with them. I love the tank. It is very well established, but I still am afraid I will damage this beautiful aquarium. The owner was very obsessive about his tank. I can not for the life of me figure out his dosing schedule for the coral. I went through his boxes of stuff and found 13 different types of food. Things like Fusion I and II, Purple Up, Essential Elements, Reef Snow, Microvert, Iodine, Coral Vite, etc. He had a very complex system. I was hoping I could simplify this to a few essential ones. Any thoughts?

I'm in almost the same boat as Paul who posted above. I just inherited a 150g SW from a friend who is moving and his new place cannot accommodate it. It is a very mature tank. There is an 11 year old Condy, a pajama cardinalfish the same age, a couple clownfish, a yellow tang, a blue hippo, and an orchid dottyback. I also have a bubble tip anemone, a pincushion, and a giant turbo snail. About 200lbs of live rock, and several different corals. It has been in my care for about 2 weeks now and my family loves it, the tank looks good too. I hope to learn a lot in this forum, i've been reading a ton since getting the tank.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the hobby(first setup in last February) I have a 10 gal nano, and a new 35 gal reef crest tank. I'm also very new to forums and using them, so if I ever post in the wrong location I apologize. I only ever read forums when Google takes me here, I've found them to be very helpful and decided I should sign up so I can ask questions, read more answers ect ect. I love this hobby even though it's fairly addictive and expensive. Also patience is not one of my strong points but I believe striving to have healthy tanks helps me cope with that. Since it seems to be a big part of the hobby. Anyways, so far I've felt decently successful, only had 3 fish die, one appeared to have been eaten, one I believe was sick when I got it and one just dissapeared over night(no idea). But other than that a majority of the inhabitants in my tanks have seemed more happy than not. After all the reading I've done on how difficult nano's can be, especially for beginners, I feel semi accomplished. Anywho... I don't really know what else to say, I looking forward to reading some good info and having someone to ask questions to other than my lfs.
