If You Are New to Reef Central, Introduce Yourself Here!

Hello everyone! :D

My name is Brandon and I've been in and out of the hobby for quite sometime. Glad to be apart of the community. Got a 57gal square reef aquarium going up this weekend. Can't wait to get started! I'm very excited to have a wide network of individuals who share the same interest! Thank you for letting me be apart of it.

New to RC

New to RC

Just wanted to say Hello, I'm new to RC and thought i would introduce myself.
My name is Kyle. Starting up a new 75 rimless build will post as it develops.

Umm, hi.

I've been keeping tanks for about 1.5 years now. I have a 125 full mixed reef with 55 gallon sump, a soon to be 15 gallon rimless, and eventually will have my 5.5 set up again. :)

Hi Reefers

Hi Reefers

 I've been interested in the science, art and conservation of reef tanks for a while now. I fell backwards into a 100 gallon Truvu corner tank. So I'm trying my hand at it. Maybe I'll start a thread to track my progress. It seems like all the cool kids are doing it these days :D. I've read through a lot of the great advice here and will be doing so more over the next few days, weeks, and months I'm sure. I think the emoticon selection says a lot about the quality of the website. I choose these three to exemplify myself...:uzi::wildone:

Hello all,

new to the site and love what I see. I have a small 10 gallon which was the first salt water tank i started out with about a year ago... only has a couple of rocks and a yellow tail damsel and clown fish. A month ago I started with a 29 gallon. I have about 25 pounds of rock with a couple snails, cleaner shrimp, two sand stars and a bullet goby. I am on the process of making this a reef aquarium with time.

New to Reefing!

New to Reefing!

Hi,

My name is Tyler im completly new to the hobby but im attempting to learn fast. I have a 55g long, with a 10g sump, everything is DIY built by me, from the sump to the plumbing and the stand. So far im having fun although im pretty sure I added fish to early :P. Everything is going ok so far and I hope that I can learn from the great community here and hopefully not make "all" the mistakes my self.

Tyler

Hey guy I'm new to reef central. I've always had tanks but they were fresh tanks. I got bored and started a reef tank about a year ago. I have a 55 gal display with a 30 refugium metal halide2x150 sunpod it's mixed reef.

Hi All,

I'm Pete. I've never had an aquarium before. I was on vacation and went snorkeling and saw the reef for the first time recently. Once I saw that, I decided that I wanted to put together a marine aquarium. After reading "The New Marine Aquarium" by Paletta and "The Conscientious Marine Aquarist" by Fenner, I'm about to set up my first tank and came here to get some advice and to share my journey.

I was looking for a location to stop in and say hello.

I ended up posting a thread in the lounge. I am new to saltwater tanks and mine has been up for about 7 months now. I am still in the process of getting the equipment that I want to have. I did about 11 months of research and planning before I got started and added a drop of water to the tank.

Oh ya, I am in South West Florida and a member of the SWFMAS down here and also some other forums.

Hey all,

I'm Donald. Have only had my own tank for 6 months now. My room mate has had tanks of all sizes and have learned through him and helped take care of his for years, finally decided to do my own. I have a 20g FOWLR, but I'm experimenting with corals. I have a Marineland DoubleBright LED light and I dont believe the PAR value is strong enough for many corals, though when I got my live rock it had a small colony of nuclear neon green zoas, 2 brown leathery mushrooms (one that has since died due to a bad babysitter) and a small patch of blue sponge, that has since died off from heat I'm assuming. I just bought a small ($10) frag of frogspawn to see how well it does with my current light. I have 2 Maroon Clowns and a Percula Clown. That is another experiment that is interesting to say the least. The Percula has befriended both Maroons, but the Maroons hate each other. Having my own tank is getting me anxious to build it bigger, luckily available funds keep me from doing so. Enjoying every day of new hobby!

Hey guys, this is my first tank ever and going Saltwater...

My name is Kevin and I'm currently starting with 40g for Fish only with live rocks. So far I got everything set up and running, however the only thing I"m missing right now are the lights, heater, and fishes. Hopefully I can get everything in soon... can't wait.

Hi

Hi

Hello Everyone!

I am glad to be here. I am brand new to saltwater/reef aquariums but i have had fresh water aquariums off and on my entire life. I have always enjoyed aquaria but never thought I could afford a saltwater or reef aquarium.

I haven't actually received my aquarium, as of yet. For the past month I have been in every local fish store and have done nothing but window shop on-line, weighing out all my options.:hmm5: I am definitely up for suggestions!

When I'm not window shopping, I am studying.:reading: Researching everything about it. I don't want a single dead fish on my hands (even though I know it is probably inevitable).

Anyway,

Hello!
