Hello Everyone,
Just thought I would Introduce myself. I'm Patrick and I live over here in Arkansas. I am the proud Grandfather (@44 years Young) of 1 Granddaughter and 1 Grandson. Earlier today I took my Granddaughter and Grandson to the local Reef Store (Big Mistake) for the first time. They instantly said NEMO!!!!!!! LOL
So guess what happen next? We sure didn't walk out empty handed. I decided to get them a 10 gallon Nano to start their adventure of Reef Keeping. Knowing my luck they'll break the PiggyBank to support their habbit with this Hobby.
So we got the Tank, Sand, Salt, RO/DI Water, test Kits, LED Fixture, 15 LBS of Live Rock Totally covered in Coraline and Filtration. They wanted to get Nemo but I had to Convince them that we had to wait. Soyou know the rest of the story. I ended up with a Big Fat Headache that wont go away!!! LOL

Greetings. My name is Jim Nastelli and I consider myself a rookie even though I've had a 46g tank running with spotty success for about two years now. I live in Florida on the Gulf coast near Tampa. I've run fresh water tanks since I was a teenager but this is my second saltwater tank. The first was a disaster. I am eager to tap the obvious well of information here and hope not to be a nusiance with all my problems! Thank you. Jim

I'm Jenna. I'm not exactly new here but its been long enough since I've been on that I had to register with my new email address. I've had 2 nano reefs in the past but nothing recently. At current I have a 3g picotope that's heavily planted and would like to pick up another picotope and turn it into a reef. So, here I am again! :)

Hi folks. My name is Brian. I've been keeping freshwater, planted tanks for about 20 yrs now. I currently have a 60 & 120g planted. I've gone as far as I can go with these, and I'm very interested in diving into the marine arena! I have a 90g cube that I'd like to create a marine tank with. I look forward to doing all the research and asking all the questions that are involved.

Hi, I'm Stacey

I'm a total newbie to marine tanks. I am currently doing research before starting a 55g tank. I hope you all can put up with a lot of questions because I will have quite a few. So far the information I have found has been super helpful. Thanks in advance.

Aloha,

My name is Scott, my home is Maui. Back in the SW hobby after a 20+ year break in between, so I guess I'm a noob. A lot has changed in equipment but the basics are the same, I'm currently cycling my tank and things are progressing well.

Hi, My name's Will from Bracknell in the UK. After having various fresh water tanks over a period of 20 or so yrs I went salt water a few years back with a red sea max 130. Currently I have a sumped 4 ft frag tank, and am in the process of slowly breaking down my red sea max, and converting my 4ft rena to my main display tank. I'm no expert, learning all the time. Looks like you've got a great site here.

Hi all

Hi all

Hello to RC,
I'm getting ready to start my 72X24X30 Custom MRC build in a couple months. They are still in the process of building everything and joined RC in hopes of gaining more knowledge in the marine hobby. I'm fairly new to the hobby having only about 1 to 2 years of experience. My job as a diver has given me a unique perspective and has intrigued me to say the least. I'll be posting my build on this website if all goes well. I have invested alot of time and money into this build and I can't wait to start. I'll be living in Guam for the next few years so if anyone knows any marine fish stores on that small island please let me know. I get there in a couple months. thanks

Bobby

Greetings ReefCentral,
Been lurking for the past two years and figured it was time to register as I'm in the process of upgrading from my 28gal nano-cube to a 93gal cube. Looking forward to getting some advice as I progress.

I'm looking forward to the adventure. I've waited until I could afford a high tech reef tank and with the great help of Andrew Sevans from Auaritech I have a great start to my dream tank.

I'm new to reef central hoping someone can help me out getting ready to set up my second tank lost my first one due to hurricane Irene that hit Maryland believe me I'm learned from mh mistakes got to have a back power on hand at all times my question is I'm looking at buy a dosing pump from brs I pretty much understand about get the tank up and running test find my results test a week later see what I'm cosuming then my research had me thinking dose alk at night cal in the morning now do I take the amount used for the week and dose of both or divide it up and dose everyday and is there a timer out the where I'll be able to dose say 18 ml over 6 hour time frame 1.1 ml a min is the pump time I was looking at from brs I understand that a sceniro like that would mean i would need to dose 3 ml an hour do how do u get a timer to do that 1.1 ml every 20 mins but does that mean in 3 min 3.3ml would dose put then power off timer and have it come back on in 17 mins to be exact with it I just wasn't sure there is a timer out there u can program to do such a thing sorry for a dumb question just trying to learn how to make reef life easier

Hello Reef Central

Hello Reef Central

Hi All - my name is Dave and I have been keeping reef tanks on and off for about 20 years. I have been out of the hobby for the past 6 years or so, but am looking to get back into it and am currently researching and considering doing a 120 gallon peninsula type tank with three sides open.

It's amazing how many things have changed in just the past six years! LED lighting, new skimmer technologies and carbon dosing!? So much to learn and relearn all over again!

Anyway this has always been a great source for all things reef related and I have been eagerly eating up all of the info I can over the past few days and thought I might as well jump in and say Hi to all! Look forward to getting a tank going again and being a part of this great community!

Thanks,

Dave
