Is this the GARF Bonsai? I had a small colony a few years ago that was all purple with green polyps but my new mini colony looks like yours with a more white looking base. Im wondering why these have the white base, maybe more intense lighting? lower nutrients?

It is not a Garf Bonsai (that I'm aware of). It was just sold as a "Bonsai" from one of my local vendors. I actually have 3 different "Bonsais" in my tank and they all look different. I think tri-colours are quite common, and whenever you see a tri-colour people will simply label them as a "bonsai" I've seen "Bonsai Valida", "Garf Bonsai", "Ultimate Bonsai".
