I'm a newb but I think my gramma may have ich

Raising the temperature has no value on marine cryptocaryon irritans. Garlic may help appetite, but has no effect on ich. Lowering salinity would be effective only if you lower it to 1.008/1.009

not really. ich looks like somebody sprinkled your fish with salt. are there other fish in the tank that could be beating up on him?

it *could* be lympho. that usually appears on the edges of the fins but can certainly show up on the body of the fish. lympho looks like little cauliflower-like growths.

is he showing any behavior changes like heavy/rapid breathing, hiding, hanging at the surface?

Yeah that's why I asked it doesn't look like the pics of ich that ive seen apart from the color and there more like lumps. No he is not being bullied that I have seen I have a clown percula pair in my 30 gallon with hermits. The clowns bicker with each other a bit but not with the gramma. They look like flesh white lumps I'll try to get a better. What should I do? Here's a really close pic.

Did you see the last pic i posted it looks like fleshy skin tags. Oh well I guess I'll just stand by and hope for the best and keep the water nice. I'm actually relieved because I'm new to the hobby and not prepared to deal with ich. I'll you you all posted.

I would recommend that you start a quarantine protocol for all new fish acquisitions, otherwise you WILL be dealing with ich in your tank at some point.

i agree with chris.

as for the gramma and if it's lympho, there is no cure. it's a virus that will run its course. you can and should start soaking his food in vitamins (selcon and/or vita-chem). with pristine water conditions and vitamins, lympho usually clears up in a few weeks.

"I would recommend that you start a quarantine protocol for all new fish acquisitions" I think Doing so can led to a harmful conclusion. Hope you agree

If you are recommending not have a quarantine protocol, I disagree.
