I'm having big fun now...390 display +

Yes - try the MJ400 as that should be more than enough. The MJ400 is what I'll be putting on my DIY Kalk mixer. I've done some research and it seems to be the pump of choice for this application. You might also put a small ball valve after the output to have better control - not that you don't already know that but sometimes it's hard to see when you're so close :).

I considered the ball valve, but I think the 400 is the better idea. I'm working half a day today. I'll play some more tomorrow.

Some more pics.
Here are some new fish in the QT. A Genicanthus Bellus and 2 Halichoeres Chrysus. I was also picking up a Genicanthus Melinospilus, but it had a raised scale with a possible infection, so John is treating is at the store.

Jealous!

Not only are the fish impressive, but, damn, all that engineering worked!

Good show my friend!
Minor engineering failure today. My DC8 quit working. I've tested everything that I can test without taking it apart. I'm waiting until tomorrow to contact Curt.

Better Biology Through Better Technology!!!

Oh, I have been there. I had a DC8 die. Curt is amazing when it comes to customer service!

Good luck, I am sure he will have an answer and solution fast.

there is a fuse in the DC8, I've had to replace mine twice, but since I staggered the MH's coming on in the morning it's been working fine. take out the lid screws along the top, the lid comes off and the fuse is along the side, a needle nose pliers works well to remove and replace it

Elliot, Is yours the original DC8 or the 1.1 version? I have the 1.1 version with the push button breaker on the face of it, and it didn't pop. Does the 1.1 have a fuse inside?

ahh, mine is the original without the breaker, so your's probably doesn't have a fuse, I'd probably just wait till the morning and give Curt a ring

mike just as a safety issue....strap or chain the co2 to the wall....i have had missles fly across the shop when i worked for an 02 company from the valve being sheered off. You dont want the co2 running into the tank do you? And if you say it could never happen......well it could, so dont take the risk :)

Oh Mike those are some sweet fish. Were you able to get a Male/Female with your wrasse? You know how I feel about mine and that's the reason I now have 6 :D. You'll like how they spend all day just picking at the rocks - looking for anything to move. Good luck with them and I hope you're as happy as I've been. I see you put a nice container of sand in for them - you are so nice to your fish :). Have you seen how they "disappear" yet - it's so cool watching them dive right into the sand.
