I'm having big fun now...390 display +

Your tank looks phenomenal! The design is flawless. I really want to get to see it in person one day when I'm in Tampa.

I'm sure its a stupid question but what does and actuator do? What test kits do you use to verify your levels?

I noticed that your lawnmower blenny has a fat belly. Mine has a belly that makes him look pregnant. Can we do anything to target and put him on an diet?

Thanks guys. It's all fun!!! PM me anytime you're coming through town and we'll get together.

The actuator in the pics moves the light rack in and out for cleaning and bulb maintenance. There are two more actuators for the system. One will raise the front of the light rack for tank access. The slides are mounted on pivots in the back. The other will open the front of the canopy when the wood is installed.

I use a Hanna PO4 photometer, and Salifert test kits.

The lawnmower eats all day. My worry is that someday the tank will not have enough to support him.

Sunday, my 2 Genicanthus and Halichoeres will be moved from the 50 QT to the 390 display. The following weekend, I will start loading up the QT with more SPS.

I was gonna use actuators on my set up too. I bought one remoe controlled and all spen a ton of money. Never got around to using it :( Cant wait to see yours in action. Maybe ill get around to selling it oneday lol

David(Romeosdoom) next time you visit, I will ask Mike if we can go over to his house so you can see it. It is awesome.

Mike more guests??

sweet *** build.... are you going to cover the stand at all....
Yes...eventually...probably maple with a dark stain.

Mike could one day be tank of the month. Especially with all of the research and time he has put into it. QT process can be examined, as well as his bio-diversity methodology, DIY builds. Now we need a few years for coral growth and we will be ready for the petition.

This tank is amazing love all the fish and corals you have. How big are all the fish. What temp do you run your tank at.

Thanks Chris. I don't see it myself, but it's far more fun than I ever imagined.

The Vlamingi is about 8 inches, Naso is about 7 inches, Blenny is about 4 inches, Chromis and Gramma are about 3-4 inches. I put the 2 Wrasses, about 3-4 inches each, and the two Angels, 3 inch Bellus, and 4 inch Melanospilus in the 390 today.

wow just saw some pictures for the first time in a while. Things look like they are going really well now and the rock work looks like it will work out great for coral growth. Congrats and I'm looking forward to those actuators going in.

The Genecanthus bellus, G. melanospilus, and 2 Halichoeres chrysus survived the 50 QT and went into the 390 display today. All seems well and they were welcomed with no problems.

What temp do you run your tank at.
78 to 81 with 2 house fans. I currently have 8 fans that I'm working on, and would like to keep it below 81.

Looking good Mike. I guess it is now time for the great SPS gathering. This is the fun part, or atleast for me it is. Happy collecting.
