I'm having big fun now...390 display +

I picked up corals from Roger, Jason, and Joe today, and Glenn & Jennifer delivered. Joe went with me to Port Richey and Apopka, about an 8 hour round trip, which included a couple hours staring at tanks.
Tomorrow, Adam and I will travel to Nokomis to visit Brian and see what we can score down there.

Pics of the QT stuff and a list to follow in a couple days.

Hey Mike, just started looking in this forum again, have not had time to read your thread yet. Everything looks great! Would love to see pics of the frags, got some ready for you when your ready. LMK

Subscribing!!! :)

Sorry - I never noticed that there's a button to click to subscribe to a thread. Didn't mean to get everyone all excited over a new post!!

To make this a worthwhile post, I'll add this:

I am subscribing to this thread because Mike has offered his wisdom and experience to me in my 300g build, soon to be. I am local to him, and he has offered to show me his setup and explain things to me, since I'm completely new to reef keeping.

Page 28 has pics of some frags I got from you. They are all doing great. Some have encrusted over the disc and epoxy.

Just checked out page 28 and the frags look great! You got some pretty cool stuff on that page, I'm going to have to start from page one and read everything. Would love to stop by sometime and check out Joe's and your tank. Looks first class!

A bummer day today. It's been 2 days since I've seen my Bellus Angel. I've searched as much of the tank that I can see and can't find her.

Hopefully she is hiding in your rocks at the base. Another thought, did you check your overflows? Maybe she is swimming in her own little "tank." I will keep my fingers crossed though.

I've studied the overflows and didn't see anything. The overflows are covered, so I didn't expect to see anything in there.

A better day today! I was cleaning the glass and mourning the loss of the Bellus and I occasionally would hear a "splash" sound. I kept watching the tank to see who was jumping and didn't see any fish at the top when I heard the noise. I thought it might be coming from the right overflow box, which only flows into the fuge, so I kept climbing up the step ladder and shining a flashlight in there and couldn't see anything. But after hearing the noise several more times, I got a mirror so I could see in the box from the back and the Bellus was swimming into and out of the durso. It wasn't "sucked" into the durso since there is a gate valve under the tank on that drain so the flow into the fuge is slow. I spent the next three hours disassembling the closed loop which returns through that overflow box and the drain to the fuge so I could catch her, and she is back in the display. I'll have to rethink my overflow box screens, and come up with something better.

Possible solutions??

PS I told you she was in the overflow. :) Glad you found her. Give me a call tomorrow afternoon. I have no plans and the wife is out of town so I can drop off that coral for you.

I just have the gutter guard on mine. I'm going to do the eggcrate and gutter guard like Joe has.

Chris, I'll call you later.

I put mysis in the tank after everything was reassembled, and she was fighting the Chromis for food, so I think she will be ok.
