I'm officially back!!!

Let there be light!!!!!:)

Hehe, thanks Mark. I gotta tell ya that I was worried about receiving such a large light fixture in the mail. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. Wait, make that I was relieved when I opened the box.:) I was also worried about hanging the fixture because of where my ceiling joists are. Well, those darn Germans think of everything! The hangers are adjustable and can span 4-5" on each side. I should have no problems now.

Sang, that looks sweet, as well as the fish. BTW, did you put anything on the bottom of the rocks to protect the tank since your BB? Like some type of starboard or plexiglass? I was planning to do plexi for my 37 cube BB.

Nah, I didn't put anything on the bottom. The Elos tanks are built like a tank (Sherman:)) *pun intended* when it comes to the bottom. They use overlapping layers of glass. My Leemar tank from before had less protection on the bottom and I never had any problems with it.

Sang, I've been mostly lurking on your thread and enjoying your tank build. Super sweet look you have going there. I am contemplating an Elos custom tank with their Planet Elos light fixture to replace my present custom LeeMar, no reason other than I saw Kaiden's Elos setup when I went to help Brian get the Elos system he was buying from him. The tank he had set up in his living room was an Elos 120XL with the planet fixture and it was just gorgeous. A real work of an art. Yours looks just as nice. I have a quote for a new tank from Jesse and I am just sitting on the decision for a few weeks and really trying to decide if it is worth it since I am not upgrading or anything, just replacing my existing tank which is working out nicely...I am just sick of the Euro bracing getting in the way of my view since I have it set up as a look down. Your thread is pushing me in the SPEND MONEY Direction, lol.

Alicia,
How large is your current set up? Which Elos tank are you considering? Since you have all your equipment, it won't be as expensive as my set up. You can always buy the tank and stand only and use your existing sump, skimmer and other parts. I'll tell ya, I am going to be eating beans and rice for awhile.:) I think the 120xl has great dimensions. Which one are you considering?

nah, your pics are great Sang =) keep snapping ;) But maybe if I drive down to Santa Barbara one day on the 101 I'll stop by!

Looks great, the light fixture is awesome too!

I'm trying to get a hold of a Spectra myself, basically the Infiniti but with SE halides.

How are the Ventralis holding up?

You're welcome anytime. Just remember to bring the camera with ya.:) The anthias are doing super. They eat like pigs and come out every now and then. They are still very shy though.

Sang, In order to use my existing setup, which fits our living room, I have to have a custom build. This pushed the price up. I don't want the 120XL, just to big for our space. My present size of 3x2x18-20" works really well. I also like the smaller tank size in general for my tastes. I did a bigger tank for 5 years and it just got overwhelming for me. My little 70g works out great.

Yup, AGE tanks are really sweet as well. They would end up being pretty pricey...when I asked them last year for a quote the shipping killed me, kind of a deal breaker. With Jesse in the city I can just go pick up the Elos and save a ton on shipping costs. I am leaning towards doing it. We want to re-do the floors in bamboo and I would have to take the tank down to do it. I could set up a holding tank for a while in the other room while the bamboo floors were laid, tile where the tank will go, and set it back up using the new Elos tank :D. So much to consider.

Thanks Harry. I just noticed that one out of the three ventralis is now a male! Not sure if that's a good sign but he does look very nice. Basically, his head has stripes now and is more colorful. I also received my Picasso percula pair and they are just gorgeous. Here is a video of them:

I think they are 13k. I'm not too sure though as the box only says "megachromes" and doesn't display a kelvin rating.

Yep, thats the 13k. How do you like them? I ran those for a few months. In the end, they weren't blue enough for my taste.
