In living Color

Thats a really nice looking piece. Is there other stuff on par with that one.
JerseyReef, appreciate the honest review. After seeing the pictures posted, yes there was some nice stuff and the coral tank is cool looking, but I'm not that impressed, with what I see in the photos anyway.
I go to Trop a lot, and it just appears they have more stuff, maybe it will make me appreciate what I have so close to home.

I will be checking out the new place maybe this weekend. I want one of those Purple HokePoke's :)

They are open Sat...from what I heard hours are 9-9.

Hef ....pick up somethin different and we'll trade later on...get somthin good though.

With the crowds that have descended on the newly opened store, they are getting cleaned out as fast as they can get new stock into the store. They are getting 3 shipments a week. They were acclimating a new shipment of acros tonight when I was there. I couldn't tell what they looked like, since they were still in the bags hanging from styrofoam blocks. Last night, they were unpacking fish until 10:30 PM. I'm sure it will settle down after the novelty wears off. Until then, I think the stock on any given day will be hit or miss. On Tuesday, there was a tank with six or more blue-throat triggers. Tonight, there were only two left. They must have had a dozen naso tangs on Tuesday and most of them were gone today. They are moving a tremendous amount of livestock.

The freshwater section downstairs it quieter, but impressive in its own right. I think they have more local competition in this arena, but they certainly have lot of fish down there, including a whole wall of tanks with African cichlids.

I don't know what "Trop" is, so I can't offer a comparison. I assume that it is a store up Nawth Joisey somewhere.

Thanks for the feedback. On the PARC thread, someone accused me posting a "fishy post" :rolleye1:

Just trying to give my honest impression. Hopefully, that's still valued.

I've seen a lot stores since I've been in the hobby and this store will find it's niche, it will just take some time. Don't get me wrong, I live less than 1 mile from this store ("Old Orchard Section" for my fellow Cherry Hill residents :) ) and did buy some stuff while I looked around. Will I buy in the future, sure. I just might be selective in what I buy. Always have and always will be, it's my money and the last time I checked the money tree I planted in the backyard hasn't sprouted yet. Maybe soon :D

I was there Saturday. It was a really nice store. The employees all seemed willing to want to help. They did have a ton of fish. Tons of corals. I am kind of curious though what their goal is as far as equipment / tanks because they didnt have too much of that. Are they mostly a livestock store selling some equipment? Does anyone know?

They are building a show room for tanks only complete setups every size and style, they currently have one huge inventory in the basement where they are building the showroom , next door, that has not been put out yet, give them some time they should be done shortly,. also the downstairs where the fresh water fish are is fully stocked with dry goods in racks and bins under the tank stands,. they will be stocking every line of equipment available, and dry goods.

They own the store next door which is basically going to be dry goods. We went in their basement before they opened and they had so many tanks down there I couldn't believe it.

can anyone tell me how to get to this store? i am from eastern pa...right on the border of phillipsburgh, nj...i looked it up on mapquest but nothing was coming up for the address.

Any idea on their grand opening sale? It was posted to be on the 18th in another thread, but I just called and they said there was no sale on the 18th, and no date set for one

When I was there I didn't see any signs for any sale. But, that doesn't mean there won't be one... but there were no signs for a "Grand Opening".
