indoor shark pond

Looks good btw. When I did mine, I used the epoxy paint. Yes it had fumes, but I went with light blue, so I could see the fish better. I sent my wife(ex now), out for a weekend while I did multiple coats of the epoxy. She couldn't even smell it when she came back.

Ha nice d-man my wifey has one in the oven, can't send her anywhere haha. I was surprised every step of the way it was spot on. 2 cinderblock risers across the floor. My basement is older and has no real grading, just French drains and sump pump. So the pond is completely level amazingly enough. With the white sand in there and the light on should be good. It was pretty bright with standard flood lights and just black liner. Next project with wood will be epoxy or fiberglassed for sure.

The filling has begun! And I moved the fluorescent light fixture that was over the indoor pond start of build and put it over washer /dryer wife is happy!

We will see! I have extra sets on hand, however my tap water tds is 25-35 so my ro filters get a long time out of their life typically, but ill be monitoring the pressures to keep an eye on filters for ya. But drains are plumbed and working on a return manifold

Applied the first coat of semi clear satin to wood bracing up top and picked out the front trim for the monster! Oh and I will throw in a picture of my only display tank upstairs.

Pretty neat.

You know you're addicted to this hobby when wooden boxes with rubber liners sound like a great thing to fill with expensive and pretty creatures....

Marrone and Nativshark. Check your attitudes at the door. I normally wouldn't do this publicly, but the number of complaints regarding your posting styles is telling.

Cleaned up and looking closer to done, pond is full and letting it warm up and salt to mix before firing up the pumps! And put all tools away and cleaned basement. Water is cloudy from sand, hoping it wont take long for my live rock to clean it up. The pipes in the drains are just to test bulkhead seals and stop water flowing into sump. I'll put my screen over it when system is running

Coming along nicely! I especially like the way you did your plumbing. I really think you are going to enjoy viewing your fish from a top-down perspective. IMO it's a lot more interactive.

Sorry to clutter up your thread by posting pics, but I thought I'd show you one of my pool. Kind of a glimpse into the future of what yours will look like once you have some fish/rock in there.

Looking forward to watching yours progress!

Moriarty, never apologize for adding pics when it looks like that! holy cow is that 20-30 foot circle? where do you have that? wow beautiful setup and thanx for the compliment

Just a 10' circle, but I guess it does look a bit bigger in that pic. Our builds are actually pretty similar except I didn't have the guts/confidence to put bulkheads through my liner :) Mine is still very much a work in progress, but here is a link to the build thread if you want to have a look.
