I kept one of these files in my 75 gallon mixed reef aquarium for a long time but it died while I was on vacation... probably due to lack of being fed while I was away. That fish needed supplemental feedings as well as corals.

Holy.! smokes!

All I can add to something here is this.If you've kept an orange spot in the past ,acomplished things like tank of the month with cinder blocks as base rock...ect...
...And going off the thread title "what would put your tank over the top" dont settle for something your obviously more capable of pulling off.
I'd say the orange spot pair,or some small species of fish not yet bred or difficult to breed is in the ballpark.Just my thought on this.

A valentini puffer would put it over the top. If you're brave enough to give it a try. ;) I successfully kept one in a soft coral tank. It proved to be a wonderful fish.

my stepfather has one of these! they are amazing fish and SUPER smart. they watch my every move

no midlife crisis here!

no midlife crisis here!

believe it or not, there are times when you can't see the fishes in my aquarium. The Chromis and Engineer Goby were a great addition. I still have some wiggle room for a few additions.

You shall see :twitch:

Gary, was a pleasure to finally see your tank in person. I must say to anyone reading this thread that hasn't seen your tank in person it's truly inspiring. I'm really not sure what I could add to the thread as far as adding to your tank but whatever you decide to do I know it will be great. Thanks for the inspiration and sharing your knowledge all these years..Keep on reefin.....
