Introducing The GHL/Fauna Marin Balling Method System

Although I am interested in the system, and have seen great results from European tanks, please clarify what and how it does anything different than a properly set up Ca Reactor? ( I will also read some threads surrounding this)

My Ca reactor has been tuned in solid for the last 8 months and provides Ca, Alk, and Mag consistently throughout the day with the only variation being the normal alk swing AM to PM that any system will contend with.

Is there perhaps a benefit to the products themselves that are being used?

Please dont get me wrong, I am very interested in it, I would love to get rid of the 20# cylinder in my living room, and I really enjoy hooking things up to my Profilux :D .

I am just looking for a clarification of what this can do that my current set up doesnt already.

I can provide some good answers here

To understand this better you need to look at the chemical relationship between DKH and Calcium and also magnesium.

A calcium reactor actually raises the DKH of your tank more than calcium, this is why people employ the use of kalk stirrers to even this balance (along with other uses)

Because magnesium is hard to dose within a calcium reactor again you have little control over the amount being applied.

Then you have to take into account the ability to add other important elements such as strontium and iodine, both cannot be added via a reactor.

This is just the start of the line of benefits but hopefully highlights the main areas of difference.

A calcium reactor is a limit one shot pony, the balling method is all shots in one race!
 
starter kit packages which will include the GHL dosing stations and Fauna balling salts next week? just USA or also available in Canada?
 
Todd received the balling salts today, please give him a few hours and then give him a call, he is uploading the website this weekend

Stock literally arrived 10 minutes ago I have just received a call from him.
 
I have all of the 1kg in stock now. Still work to do on the site but I can complete orders via a paypal invoice for now if anyone would like to get started.

I should also mention that I just disabled my calcium reactor!

Getting ready to start dosing the balling salts and recommended supplements.

I needed an excuse to use one the dosers I have stocked.

I am working on the balling method mixing chambers. with 3 chambers of 10x10x24 (10g) 1/2" thick base and lid, 3/8" on the body. Each chamber has it own lid secured by 2 thump screws with keyholes. You can use a small MJ to mix the salt on each chamber. I will have John Guest fitting on each lid for the dosing pump connection..... Damn you Todd.... I hate talking to you :lol:
 
Don't forget a small air inlet somewhere to.

We need a smaller version to for the 2.5 gallon chambers for those who don't have giant tanks like you!
