Is he an onyx or a true perc with alot of black?

I found this little guy at my LFS being sold as a true perc and I noticed the black dorsal fin and the amount of black he already has for his small size. I was wondering if he wis an onyx or a true perc with a lot of black. Also something strange. My female (other fish in pic) has her third stripe turning black. I don't know what caused this. I has been like this for several months though and her coloring is great, she's growing, she has a ton of energy, and she's eating like a pig so I am assuming it is not health related. Anyone have any ideas? No one I know has heard of this before. Sorry for the terrible camera phone pics. Thank you everyone for all the help I get on here.

many people will disagree with this but Cquest in puerto rico did the genetic breeding to achieve a mostly black percula by isolating a recessive gene. IMO i believe that onyx perculas were coined by them and if you want to call a percula "onyx" it must be traced back to bill addison. But either way you probably have a true percula with lots of black and is a beautiful fish

If it does not have black between the mid and tail stripe as well, it is not an onyx color pattern regardless of source.

my clowns that i just got today have all black bodies with the 3 white stripes. even there fins are black. and it has an orange mouth. is that an onyx? if not what is it?

I have not been to that thread.Just hearing what people are paying for some of these clowns is kinda scarey.I am more of an anemone person.My favorite clowns are the snowflake and naked clown.I have four true percs that I paid $5:00 a piece, and one b/w oc for $10:00.
