It came in my reef cleaner pack from liveaquaria. Its quarantined right now because I don't know what it is. Yes, that is a claw (White)

Thx

Here's a close up of the claw...the tip of the claw is brown. I do have a sump/fug i can drop him in, but my fug has corals in it. Is it coral safe?

thx again

I think on a basic level yes, though all mithrax crabs aren't green. I've had ruby mithrax crabs in the past and have a black one in my sump right now that was a hitch hiker on a leather coral I had bought. Was about 1/4" across when I found him but has grown up now, completely happy in my sump.

it does not look like emerald to me. the claws dont look right. its kinda hard to explain but my mithrix ive had claws had more of a grabbing capability. like at the end the did a 90 degree turn towards the oposing tip and had flat spots to make it easier for them to grab algae. that crabs claws look more predatory and sharp

paul, looks like that one would be safer on a plate with some melted butter!

I had that same thought, which is why he is gone. Him and a few dozen of his friends. I will collect a few dozen more of them today and if they are also not reef safe, they will also be dinner. :)
