is this normal?

It's the saddle back that's going into the mouth, isn't it? It's usually not very good for the anemone. It's common for them to do this in stressful situations. You probably have to many clowns, and to many species of clowns, in the same tank together. This will stress the fish and the saddle back will hide in the anemones mouth to get away form all the stress.

To add to "EC's" post -- which I completely agree with --- If the clowns stays inside the mouth too long it can cause damage to the clown. My female saddleback USED to do this any time I was doing a water change. One time she stay in there for at least 5 minutes (( more likely 10 )) and when she came out her "face" was all messed up and had pop eye in one eye. Was "off" for the next 2 weeks -- darting around the tank and then just laying on the sandbed -- and then passed away.

ic im just confused as to why they are doing that - its my 2 true percs that are being hosted by the nem i see no sting markings on them nothing im looking at the nem now and i see his mouth is shut now hopefully that will put a hault to them digging around in his mouth

I think I misunderstood your original post. The clowns aren't actually entering the anemones digestive cavity, right? They're just biting and nipping at the tissue when the mouth is open, correct? Perc's will often pick up anemone poo in their mouths and spit it out away from the anemone. I guess they're trying to keep their home clean??? When an anemone opens or extends their mouth, perc's will often nip at it. They will take part of the tissue in their mouth and quickly fan their tail, as if they're trying to swim into the anemone, or push the tissue back to where it belongs, but I've never seen them actually enter the anemone. Saddle backs, on the other hand, will actually swim inside the anemone's mouth.

Your perc's aren't doing this, right?
