Here is picture of my Foxface, as you can see there is 2 white blotches on him. On his other side he has one little bump, looks like it could be under his skin. I see no white spots on him, he is not scratching, flashing, no cloudy eyes, eating like a pig, and no rapid breathing. I am having a hard figuring out waht this is. I have Prazi-Pro on standby if it is flukes. Also he is the only fish in the tank. He was quarantine for 8 weeks, 2 weeks were with Prazi-Pro and 21 days with New Life Spectrum Shield CP powder. The rest was observation ttime which he show no ill effects. I have some coral but not much and just a CUC. My parameters are as follows:
SG 1.026
Khd 8.9
Ca 430
Mg 1360
Ph 8.3
Ammonia and Nirites 0ppm
Nirates- I would guess around 2ppm closer to 0.
Tank has been up and running about 4 months now, the foxface has been in there about 3 weeks now. Thanks for your suggestions and time

How long was the current tank setup before you introduced the foxface? How long ago was the last "wet" thing (coral, CUC, ect) you put in the tank? Really difficult to see the white spots in detail in the pic.

The DT (which he is currently in) cycled in about 4 weeks back in mid January. The tank ran fallow until mid March when I added the CUC. April 3, I added the Foxface and my corals, he was fine, I started to notice the white blotches about 2 days ago. Nothing has been added since then (after him). They are not really spots like ich or grains of salt. They look like someone tried to draw a cloud and they are white. they have no uniformity to their shapes.

Ich.

Quarantine with some copper, garlic, or whatever floats your boat.

Decide why. Bad nutrients? Have you been testing? You don't quarantine?

Thank you for your suggestions, but did you read my post completely? Yes I quarantine anything wet for 8 weeks. Yes, I test every 3 days, everything is stable. I do see a very small swing in PH and Alk, during the night hours. When I test every 3 days, I test at 5:00 in the afternoon.

Not ich. Could be brook. The fallow period for brook is 6 weeks, could of been brought in on a coral or CUC. Can you take some more pictures for a positive ID

Don't worry about PH, I have never checked PH in my tank before. Alk isn't a issue unless the swings are huge.

I will try, it's very hard to see when the white lights are on, plus he doesn't stay still. If it is Brook does Prazi-Pro treat that?

Garlic does nothing for ich BTW and bad nutrients doesn't cause ich in the first place... Ich causes ich. Stress in a tank with ich already can cause the symptoms to show :reading:

Ya I know that much, but have no clue where or how he got stressed out. So is Brook a form of ich or total different animal? I guess the mission begins of breaking the tank and catching him! Got to love saltwater!

I would highly recommend reading through the stickies and especially this one.

If you read them multiple times like your gonna have an exam your understanding will sky rocket. Being prepared and educated really makes saltwater fun. Kind of cool to have a sick fish and a year later have him fat and healthy tooling around your tank. Best of luck.

Brook and ich are completely different and treatment isn't the same

That depends a bit on which treatment you chose. Some medications, like CP, treat them both and TTM can also be amended with formalin dips to get both off the fish at the same time.

Since he is new to RC I wasn't sure how inclined he is to use CP or TTM, the latter seems to scare people for some reason. You are correct that TTM with formalin dips are a great way to treat both and my preferred course of action
