From Europe????

Wow, I was way off base. I thought maybe you were doing some type of full blown spot set up.

Congrats, are they actually at your house or are they in customs?

My lights are here already!!
Just so I understand, you have the fixture, and you didn't disclose what it is or include a picture? I've got just one word ...

UNFAIR
;)

you people are impaitent......

please show us pics.
soon,, im on vacation and i cant keep having to check back here ;)

Well gosh darn it! I thought I was going to get lucky today! I came home to only see one package from UPS International Express. Looking back at both my tracking numbers, the other one was held up at customs and that was my fixture. The box I got today is probably the ballasts. Oh well. Thought i was going to have my lights setup today.

Alicia, yea.. it was both the scribble and meredithi. :(

Chad, all I have are the ballasts at my house. The fixture seems to be in Kentucky as of 11am today. Yea, Im sure you thought that.. either way.. I hope you like it.

dudester, I thought I was going to disclose it today. Looks like we are going to have to wait on UPS now.

zoos/gsmguy.. going downstairs now to open up one box at least. ;)

Darn, at this point even a pic of the ballasts would be fun :D . Now lets just hope it clears customs fast.

did you say German or Italian manufacturer :D

Chad

Yeah we're going to need pictures of that ballast at least to hold us off. No ifs, ands, or buts, just post the pictures!

Hey guys im as much as dissapointed as all of you.. but the good thing is that I thought I was going to have to wait an extra week. Anyhow.. here's a pic of the ballasts. The boxes say 250w external. :)

it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be - guess we will just chill until the fixtures get there - and i guess we don'ty have to say - be ready and able to install them within the first hour they are in your clutches

Those do look like Giesemann ballast's. :)

Thats a nice looking light, I've been scoping it out myself.
Wish they made a 400w version.

Oh you guys are getting HOT. It's not an Inifiniti. Think WIDE. The reason i wanted this fixture was because it covered more width because of my 40" wide tank. Remember, no one sells this in the states.

Just looked at the UPS tracking info and its 61lbs. Wow, thats heavy. And, they changed the delivery date to the 16th.

Im going to sidetrack everyone and show you the kind of corals I will be collecting. If you have kept up with the reading of my thread, my goal is to keep the 80/20 rule and instead of 80% SPS, i am aiming for 80% Softies. Starting off my collection, I drool over carnation corals. After ordering my small 1" frag from liveaaquaria, The Purple Passion Tree, I have struck gold on a nice size colony of this Neospongodes species.

Here's my frag (3 wks old):

And here's my new colony:

That looks amazing, i can't get enough of those shots either. I was wondering are all your pumps running for this picture or do you turn them off for the shots?

zoos, in that shot, I turned off the pumps. I am very satisfied with the way the closed loop turned out. My water movement is perfect in every area of the tank. The left side has the strongest flow even though you probably dont think it does because there are no pumps in the tank. First off, that area is very open which continues the flow witout any blockage. I have both of my returns pointing to this area from the iwaki return pump from the sump. And then i have the CL hole coming out the bottom shooting straight up which is actually shootting out in a Y. This was not planned and have figured out how to use my single ultra rock to point in 2 directions. The barracuda is very strong and it has created more flow on the left side of the tank. My goal was to not use any power heads.

If you want, I can take a pic of the top with the flow on?
