Hey guys im as much as dissapointed as all of you.. but the good thing is that I thought I was going to have to wait an extra week. Anyhow.. here's a pic of the ballasts. The boxes say 250w external. :)

Those look like Geisemann ballasts to me.

amazing setup! quite an inspiration...and it's not even finished!

are your 20K Iwasaki's spot or flood lamps? i know you only have a few corals so far, but how is the color and growth under this bulb?

Invincable 569 you definatly have done your homework, what are the exact dimentions of that fixture?Does it include individual reflectors on the t5"s,weather it does or doesn,t giesemann doen't make mistakes,Im sure its gonna be awsome!

By the way I was just curious as to the difference between the Infinity 3x metal halide + t5 and the Spectra.Either way you can,t go wrong.

Guess Im the only person foolish enough to be talkin reefs on a saturday nite!!!!!What have I gotten myself into???

Mike, that's one thing the Spectra didnt offer was the moonlight. These lights were supposedly made for commercial tanks only so they didnt think about the regular consumer. That would definitely be nice if there was a moonlight.

Dudester, I was planning on using the Biomatix. For the full system diagram, I used Sketchup. For the lighting diagram, I used Visio. Both diagrams are to scale. Even the light fixture, reflectors, etc. I did my homework. ;)

Detrivore, they are spot PAR36. The color is amazing with just the 20k on. The corals glow and the color is not too blue. It was the first 2 wks, but that was expected. Its a crisp bluish white. I havent had too much growth yet, but corals respond very well. I have yet to loose any coral, or see one decline in health.

jwc, I didnt ask about the reflectors on the T5's. Looking at the CAD diagram they created, it seems to show something. The Infiniti line is DE, while the Spectra is SE and also wider. DE has a stronger focus point while SE has a broader range. Oh, and I requested that the Spectra have the entire bottom be reflective like the Bilux (diagram shows metal net).

Here's the dimensions:

forgive my appalling lack of manners, but I'm very interested in your lighting. Could you please provide links to whom you purchased the spot 150's (Are they IceCap's?), and if you're comfortable with it, could post a link to whom you ordered the Spectra pendant from (I'm gonna feel dumb if you ordered them directly from Geiseman), and did they charge you extra above the standard cost of the lights for the sprcial order?

Sometimes people dont get the true feeling of perception when you just post a tank picture. I created a true representation of the size of this tank. The pic of the man also shows the exact height I am when I stand next to the tank. My nose touches the rim of the tank. :) Which means I am able to look down into the tank when I get close.

Ed,
After last conversation with Phil i was under impression that i can costum order moolights with Spectra.I will waiting for aprice quote from him. Do u know if T-5 can be turn on on the separate time or all four will fire up at the same time?

Would you mind mentioning why you're going with a Biomatix as opposed to a controller with an established track record? I'm not knocking it, not at all, in fact it's on the top of my list as well, I'm just interested in your thoughts. Last I heard it wasn't available for retail yet. Your Sketchup drawings are great ... I share jnarowe's sentiment. I haven't mastered the software enough to create images like you've made, but I don't mind sitting in front of the computer to figure it out. Sadly, that's my idea of fun.

Well RC is not allowing me to view the thread as quickly as I want to but I have to try to get a post in that simply says "WoW".

Very impressive and I love your approach to building and progressing it!

I need to get mine built so I can spend more time surfing RC. I can't believe I never saw your tank before tonight!

Just refreshed the UPS tracking page this morning and its in Houston now. Latest time stamp says "Out for Delivery". If delivery times are consistent for UPS, it should be here around 10:30am. Im glad I have the day off today from work. I need to run out to a Lowes or Home Depot and pick up some toggle bolts. Not sure what the pendant comes with yet.

Mike, they fire up all at the same time.

Nick, negative.

jnarowe, Im 5 10. As normal as can be. ;)

Dudester, i was offered to become a beta tester back in January but my tank wasnt up so I didnt have any data to offer. I declined. They are also located in Houston so if there was a bug or some big issue, I can run to their location and get some type of resolution. I wouldnt do this if I wasnt in Houston. I also like the simple displays it has.. the bigger unit screen and the output to a webpage. I first heard about this new controller when MACNA was in Houston and my friends (fishcraze & naka) were saying that it looked really good compared to others. Then I talked with ADG who is the company who is beta testing this unit through several of their commercial clients. ADG will be finishing up my stand and they were planning to incorporate the Biomatix into the stand like you see above. As for creating the drawings, its very simple!! Once you finish your drawing the first round, go back and fill in the details.

kennyboy, I do not. Im not in favor of creating additional stress to the fish jumping from small tank to small tank.

Hop, thank you very much.

Edward can you tell me a bit more about the spot lights you are using the actual fixture itself, and also the 20k spot you're using is it 70 watts?
