It begins... 345-gallon Starphire in-wall system

Sorry late here and it might have been said, but could it have possibly been a case or Marine Velvet the fish got?

I'm actually leaning towards that now as I could not get the survivors out...one being a purple tang and I haven't seen any indication of ick at all.

It may have been both starting with the ick, then I went out of town and had most of the losses in a few days.

humm... One time I drained my 75 and took out half the rock to get a fish to put in my other tank. It was a pita. I guess when you big it is no where as near as easy..

Hopefully the fish turn around for the better..Good Luck.

Those only work for Marc.

They do work, but it takes some time. First of all, put the trap in the tank for a few days with the door open (or removed). Then the day you are ready, put some tasty food in the trap, reset the door, and stand away so you are mainly out of sight. Various fish will enter, but the one you want will not exit if you're quick. ;)

I have yet to have the fish I am trying to catch actually go inside. ALL the other fish will of course!

Not really an option. Thanks for the suggestion though.

What about on of the acrylic fish traps?

I actually went out bought the acrylic and built one...I think it's more of a patience issue or lack thereof! :D

Again, patience being an issue...plus the fact that the back of my tank is blacked out and it's difficult to see what's going on with the trap without standing over the tank.

I'll have some time next week. I might give it another try. I haven't seen a recurrence of the ick for about 4 weeks now. I've got some critters in QT at the moment so I'm umming and awwing about putting them in the display as there hasn't been an outbreak for awhile. It may also have been velvet or a combination of the 2.

I hope you fish are doing better..

I've got half of them in QT and haven't had time to "fish" the rest of the buggers out!
