Yesterday, January 6th, I tried the paponne recipe (all fresh) including the addition of AA's (glutamine and L-Argenine) {L-Aspartic Acid is illegal in Canada}for two hours prior to feeding the paponne shortly before lights out. I used 5ml of the recipe as I have a 220 gal tank but didn't account for the 70 gal sump. I stuck the syringe with the paponne in it in front of the tunze and injected slowly as the current spread it throughout the tank. I have a dual beckett skimmer each with a separate pump so I just shut one pump off to ensure good oxygenation. The polyp extension was unbelievable during the night. When actinics came on this 11AM their was about 12 inches of skimate sitting on top of the 12" water column in the skimmer. Nitrate had climbed from 0 to <2, and PO4 from .03 to .25. Skimmer on and after 8 hours parameters were back to normal. Following all cautions, I'll do another feeding in one week. I'm excited as I've never seen such beautiful polyp extension before, and daytime colors were much more vivid.
