It's Feeding Night

Time to feed these monsters.
Not sure which I like to look at more. The haddoni red is just stunning but the long tentacles on the gigantea getting battered by the flow is mesmerizing. Enjoy!

cool Nick. when i feed my gig directly i feed smaller pieces than that (maybe 1/3 that size). i've heard it's easier on the anemone to digest, which makes sense to me. something to consider (lovely gig!!). your gig really looks great (i'm partial to gigs, but it gets my vote)!

Thanks Jonny,
I used to cut the shrimps smaller but since the gig is big now, I just feed it the entire shrimp or cut it in half.
Haddoni are usually an eating machine, so I'm not too worried about it eating big pieces. :)

love how you put the peice of shirmp there andall your fish look at it like YUMMMM but then realise where it is ;) love your fish!!!

VERY NICE! The colors on both are unreal, and I love the action on that Gigantea. And I think I'm sold on an anemone crab now. ;)

wow I would be so nervous with all those nice looking fish nervously wanting to steal that piece of shrimp from the nem.

Do you always keep pumps running at full during feeding time? just curious

Believe it or not, my last gigantea I kept under higher flow than that :) The more flow, the more they like it!

You feed BIG pieces of shrimp, LOL. Can't argue with success :)

I don't cut the flow when I feed or do anything in the tank. Actually, there's seem to be a sweet spot on my MP40. I have to align it just right in order to get rid of the annoying vibrating noise. If the power is cut, I would have to realign it again and it takes while to get it not to vibrate.

Also, the ocean's flow don't just stop when it's feeding time. ;)

Yeah, it seems like the gigantea really like the high flow. I'm hoping to keep this gigantea til I upgrade to my planned big tank in the near future.

running both vids at the same time is amazing... once it's done loading you can scroll through the video fast and see all the slow changes you can't see in real time... really well done.

any idea y the tank got bluer on 0:41 (gig video)?

Thats pretty cool, how often do you feed the haddoni? I used to feed my blue one everyday, but cut back to once a week because he was getting too large.

I'm not really sure. I think it's the white balance on the camera. I'm just using a cheapy PnS so it might be trying to adjust the white balance when I walked away from the tank. When I came back it was back to normal.

I don't feed mine often at all. The gig gets fed once every month or less.
I had the red carpet for two week and it looks healthy enough to be fed. :)
