Im assuming you're pretty much pest free from all those wrasses. By the video it seems they all get along. I have a sixline and I would have 86ed him a long time ago except he is good at eating red bugs.

Richard your fish and corals are looking great under those new lights and I also am a big fan of Beavis yeah yeah:thumbsup:

LOL thanks. I'm a big fan of your Oregon Tort Colony:bounce1: Mine is only 3" right now but I'm hoping to grow it into a large colony.

No red bugs or aefw's on the SPS but the wrasses didn't have anything to do with that. Bayer dips before entering the tank prevented pests. These wrasses are fat pigs :) They just wait to be fed. I have a sandbed full of spaghetti worms that they never hunt. There is no aggression between any of them.
Sixlines make it difficult to add more fish of a similar size. IME this fish will not complete rid you red bugs, and cause aggression which leads to disease. I opt for the 86 idea:lolspin:

Awesome tank one of my favorites! Everything is done to my taste, cube, pumps, lighting, coral and fish selection. And now filling in nicely. Can't wait for the dslr pics.

The tank is beautiful. I agree with you once you do away with some corals (mostly on sandbed) the display should have a much crisper and cleaner look.

I probably missed this. Would you break down your maintenance routine please? Export of nutrients? Awesome job! Thanks.

Thanks. The tank will be 1 year old on Halloween. I plan on posting a bunch of better quality pics for the occasion.

Thanks:cool:

Maintenance:
-feeding of fish 2-3 times daily
-Clean skimmer cup and change filter sock every 5 days or so
- 2 or 3 18g water changes per month (Microbe-lift Nite Out added each change)
- Prodibio bio-digest + bioptim dosed every other week
- Microbe-lift Special blend dosed every other week
-No GFO is used and I occasionally run carbon passively in the sump.

Richard your tank is mind bogglingly beautiful, gotta love cubes:D definitely subbed to this build:)

Looking back at this post :) Man I got lucky! My Skimz Sm203 pump crapped out with 5 days of warranty left. Aqua Cave is sending me a new pump ASAP!
The tank will be without a skimmer for 3 days I'm guessing.
Sory for a bad prophet ... I was asking just because pump in mine went out after only five months of operation. The retailer switched it withing a few days (internationall shipinng), but luckily I had jebao pump as a return, so I switched the impellers and put it to skimmer. In my private opinion this is not a reliable device, and the contact with the manufacturer (tried also) poor... Should have add more $ and purchase rock solid BK...

Thank you so much fishy  The good words are much appreciated.

It's no coincidence that your pump, my pump, and several other users have had this pump die in a relatively short time. I agree with you that the pump is not reliable, maybe even defective. The thing is i love the performance of these skimmers. They're so simple to adjust, skim very consistently, and super quiet.
I can't recommend anymore because of the pump issues, but I continue to use it :) If I have more issues in the future, I will change skimmers for sure.

Hey Richard if you're clearing up corals I will take that rainbow tenius of your hand lol..looking good bud Lets see a Fts with the new light.

LOL good to know in case that tenuis grows out of hand ;)
I'm actually having trouble with the Giesemann light. I think I may have a defective mogul socket. It's kind of a strange problem. The giesemann fires an older radium bulb fine, but it won't fire a new radium bulb for me(I tried 3 new bulbs). I know it's not the ballast or bulbs because these bulbs fire perfectly on my old sfiligoi with the same ballast. I'm probably going to have to put the sfiligoi back over the tank while I fix or replace the mogul socket in the giesmann. What a PITA!
Here is a quick cell phone shot taken just now of the Giesemann running over the tank with an 8 month old radium bulb. In case you are wondering what is hanging from the light, it's a couple of lead sinkers to keep the font pitched down so it doesn't blind me lol. I'll eventually add some weight inside the fixture.
I'll get new, better quality pics soon. The tank will turn 1 at the end of this month which I was going to take a lot of pics for the occasion.

Yes, skimming is fine and the quiet is superb, but I am afraid to leave home ... and the skimmer out of sight :(.

Did you notice that if you pulled the power supply cord out of the speed control box, it made a spark? Is this normal? My friends SM203 does the same thing, and ironically his pump just died today. His is under warranty but it still sucks that these things are breaking so soon.

Looking great and full to the brim! Indeed my SM203 pump did exactly that at time of death (~5 months.)
All the best, I'm now having to get used to an Aquabee 5000 humming and drawing 75w!!

Yes, there is a spark, I would even say power is disconnected easily during simple cord manipulating or just moving control box. Power plug does not fit this box correctly either. I have read somwere in the net, there is a problem with temperature sensor and the "inside" firmware of the pump body. My retailer has resent to me the same pump so I guess the fix was the "injection" of improved firmware...

Jackson, I really love the size of your tank. I will be moving soon and looking for a smaller tank. What are your top pros and cons for a tank of your size. I prob will go with 10-15 of my fav SPS frags. and a couple small fish.

Did you use the aquabee pump inside the skimz body?

I also received the same pump. I'm not sure what was changed, but I'm going to call Aqua Cave today to see exactly what the issue was.

Thanks Tom. I love MH lighting so I wanted the largest tank possible that can be lit with one halide"¦. somewhat efficient :). I also wanted to have a little extra height so the fish can swim above the corals. I am tall so reaching into a 26" high cube is not a problem for me but maybe for others. If I had to change one thing about the dimension, I would have made the cube slightly larger. My current dimension is 32x32x26. In retrospect I should have gone 33x33 or even 34x34 to leave more space between the corals and glass. I think the extra room would reduce the clutter effect i have going on lol. It's really hard to part with corals that I like though :lolspin:

Just to update, I changed lighting back to the Sfiligoi. The Giesemann mogul socket is giving me problems firing new bulbs. I need to repair or replace it. Honestly, I may not put the Giesemann back on. The cambered shape of the sfiligoi hood stops the light spray all over the room which gets annoying after a while. Even the pic come out better without the glare hitting the lens.
