I just started following along this thread as I had recently set up a JBJ nano 28 CF. I also have an older Aquapod and I must admit that that rear chamber looks nothing like either of my nano's.

Thats not a JBJ tank. Its one of the other American brands...dont know off hand which as we only have the JBJ here in the UK.

Its taken over a year but my tank is finally stable, or rather/better said I'm able to keep it stable.

So I've got coraline growning nicely all over the black back.

However, I've also got 'green stuff' growing on the lower 2" of the glass. I've tried using magnetic scraper as well as a plastic blade - this stuff is hard/crusted and does not scrape off and is growing. Someone said this is or will turn into pink coraline... That would be great, but I'd like to be able to see in the tank.

Any ideas how to clearn this stuff off?

Do you have any updated pics? I just got my RKL in and have it hooked up and have been tinkering with it.

Oh yeah, you might try a razor blade to scrape the corraline.

Just throwing up a little update. Cycle completed so I did a final redeco and moved my stuff from the 12 gallon over. Tank looks so empty now...

I scrape mine every 6-8 weeks with a standard metal razor blade.

Anyone know if the back panel of glass is tempered and if you can drill it? Has anyone ever tried drilling the back panel of glass and installing bulk head(s)?

For some reason, I was under the impression that the JBJ 28 was madee from acrylic. I called them yesterday to confirm and they told me that its always been made of 7mm thick glass!

This certainly opens my options now that I dont have to use 'acrylic safe' scrapers.

When you guys set up your aquascape, do you have any live rock sitting up against the black back, or have you left space? Do you think it's ok to let them rest up against it, or is that a no no?

You can have something against the back, but most people recommend at least some good openings for water to circulate through. You don't want to pack rocks into a wall that traps everything. Although some people actually make a foam wall for the back- but those are sealed to the back to prevent crap from getting behind them.

You also need to decide if you want the back wall to be clean or let it coralline up, if you want it to stay black you need at least enough space to get your hand in behind the rocks.
