Jebao Cross Flow Pump

Who did you buy it from?
Are you sure its covered under a warranty?

I bought it from a vendor on ebay in May. I thought perhaps the manufacturer had a warranty, or maybe that's just wishful thinking!

I've taken it completely apart and see no visible issues. The motor spins until I add the blades back to the unit, then nothing. It freezes up. Very disappointing :/

Pt 2...

The rotor has a ceramic driveshaft which sits in ceramic bearings. When stripped down, it looks like this:

Here's the rotor on its own:

Replacement is the reverse, replace the bearing on the end of the rotor shaft and gently replace into the cage.

When installed, look closely in the end. Note the position of the two lugs at either side.

Match it up with the indendations on the end cap and replace it. (there will still be some movement of the rotor side to side in the cage.

Reverse the above to re-assemble. There are little rubber lugs on rubber mounts which hold the pump in the cradle/mount, just make sure these are aligined with the indents on the mount. Replace the end caps.

Thoughts: The blades on the rotors will bend if you really push on them, although the whole rotor is pretty solid! I'd be impressed if anyone manages to break them unless they really try to.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for this post! I thought I had mine completely torn apart after it stopped working - going to take the rotors apart as well.

No problem, just be aware, you can't see it in the picture, but each ceramic bearing sits in a rubber grommet, just ensure that the they are re-assembled the right way and that bearings are seated squarely.

It's worth ensuring that the bulkhead is correctly aligned with the indents matching the ridges on the rotor cages, when you re-assemble, just make sure you can see the splines protrude past the bulkhead on the inside of the rotor cage and that the rotor spins.

Note: There have been issues with the first version of the motor blocks, you will get a red light on the controller and the motor stalls. V3 sorts this out and fish street replaced mine.

That's the problem I'm having - the red warning light is on and the motor is stalled. I should have bought it from Fish Street :/ Thanks again for the great tutorial.

check the ebay listing you got it from. The ebay seller I got mine from has 6 months warranty.
Which seller is this pm me the info if you dont want to post it please I've messaged everyone selling them on eBay about warranty and nobody has responded all I asked them was if they carry a warranty and I haven't got one response yet lol

I've not had a Gyre so can't draw direct comparisons, however those I know who have had both have reported the cross flow is almost on par, not quite, but certainly not only half as powerful.

I would check it is assembled correctly, the cable comes out of the bottom and the blades point downwards.

wait.. cable comes out the bottom?
mine comes out the top?

i took it all appart. the housing was a bit twisted and the end rubbers. hilding the whole thing in place was not positiones correctly.

its good now.. silent and powerfull..

like u say. almosr as powerfull as xf150.. my xf150 broke again.. never ran for more than 2 months

What's the consensus regarding the cord placement? Should it be coming out of the top or bottom of the motor, or does it really matter as long as the blades on the rotors point downwards? I want to get the max flow out of this. In pics and videos I've seen, I've seen the cord coming out from both the top and bottom. Thanks in advance!

This might have already been asked but does anyone know where to get replacement parts.... I believe my motor is shot, sounds like it wants to turn then I get the red light. I've taken apart and cleaned several times even gave it a vinegar bath to get everything little thing off of it but still didn't help.

I was lucky my eBay seller offered a replacement motor and rotors for $10, all I had to do was ask. Where did you buy yours from? I had the same issue - the red light of death.

I bought it from my local fish store and have no idea where they got them from. It lasted about 3 months before [profanity] the bed. I'd like to fix it and sell it don't really trust it anymore after that.
