Jebao Dosing pump thread.

Hey gang.....

Just got an e-mail this morning from fishstreet that said my order has been shipped. How long have you guys waited for your items after they were shipped?

So how's everyone liking theirs? I won one at a club raffle but have a CARx that I've been meaning to setup so I'm not sure if I'll keep it.

I have one coming. Tank is currently being maintained with kalk, but will switch it out to this once kalk will not hold the levels anymore. Seems like a reliable unit so far. Haven't heard many reports of anything catastrophic so far

Its essentially a profilux ghl doser. .

Just to be 100% clear this is 100% NOT "essentially" in any shape or form including quality, reliability, longevity and functionality a GHL doser. Other than a cheap Chinese company copying the look ONLY of a renowned product.

GHL have the last laugh though as this was launched the month GHL bring out their new Wifi stepper motor powered doser ;)

Anybody having a problem with their timers? All mine are set but won't run at the selected times. The pumps will run in manual only. Defective? For example my pump #1 is setup as follows.
1 out of 24 times per day
0 intervals out of 30
5 ml

So wait I have not ordered one yet was not sure Reefbreeders stocked the new Version d1.1 of this.

I'm thiking of getting it but was going to wait.

I've been running mine a few weeks now. Reefbreeders has great manual they wrote for it. Works just fine. It's pretty noisy though compared to my old BRS dosers. I'm guessing it will work just as well as everything else out there, since it's using the same parts being used by everyone else.

I'm wondering if this could be used in lieu of a Spectrapure LiterMiter for hourly water changes?

None of the chinese dosers have the specs for the draw and push heights. I want to run this from my basement.

Anyone has the info?

Do the valves draw in air? I remember my Marine Magic doser, I had to wrap plastic wrap on the valves to prevent air within the tubing.

reefwiser, do you know that for a fact or is it an opinion?

The spectrapure can push 60ft and pull 25ft. They are both peristaltic pumps so they should have similar capabilities. Even if it could only push 30 ft, it would be enough...

I'm just looking for actual numbers or experience.

After two months' use, it works great. Doesn't stretch the rubber/vinyl/whatever tubing by the pump heads. Very easy to program/calibrate. So far, so good.

Questioning long term reliability/ usability.

Some feedback, I bought the DP-4 in Sept 2014, and it came in about 3 1/2 weeks - no issues there.

Pump 1 was used to dose 1 cup, three times a day (237ml * 3) of limewater (kalkwasser) and Pump 2 dosed 1 cup of watered down Mag from Randy's two part. After about three weeks, pump 1 which had the Kalc wasn't dosing, but making a winding noise. I contacted Fishstreet and after some questions they sent out a replacement pump; standing by their product which is great, as it's the first time I had to get warranty support for a jeabo product. Also, I was dosing the clear Kalc, not getting the sentiment.

When pump 1 went bad, I calibrated pump 4, and set the program in. Today, this morning, I put a 2 cup measuring cup at the output that should have read 237ml, and it only pumped 200ml. Not good. I went to pump 2 that dosed the mag, changed the time of dose, instead of 237 ml, it was 195ml. Also not good.

I calibrated both pumps, and tested, to get what it was suppose to, 1 cup @ 237ml. I plan to test the output now every week as that kind of surprised they went out of calibration after two month and one month of service respectively.

Any other tests 4-8-12 weeks in to see if calibration is still in check? I'll keep everyone posted.
