Wow that price is ridiculous but I hope they change that by the time it comes out. I am sure they are pricing it in terms of how popular the wp40's got. They got another thing coming if they think they can pull off successful sales with a $90 price tag on the wp25
Well I just talk to Eric at fish street and he mentioned the wp25 won't be released til June.
Maybe June for FS, but Jebao sent me an email this morning saying it is here. There are two versions: WP25-1 which has a magnet holder and WP25-2 which has a suction cup holder. They advertise the WP25-2 as being, "Completely New, Lower price and lower freight cost." I guess you guys who want that super cheap pump may be in luck with the 25-2. The lack of magnets saves them some significant cost in production and shipping. I didn't ask about the price of the wp25-2 because I'm not interested in it. I've never had a power head with suction pumps that I didn't come home to face down in the sand and spraying up a sandstorm. I can only imagine how bad that would be with a wave maker with this power. Here is the photo they sent me.

I am not questioning the authenticity of the picture that you received from Jebao. It is just interesting to see the picture has stamped with www.nipic.com and user name on it. I believe nipic.com is similar to our Photobucket.com. I found it odd Jebao would upload their proprietary product pictures to a public domain. [/IMG]
I wonder if that is just for the background picture they used to put the pics of the pumps on?

Ah, the Chinese. Is there anything they won't blatantly rip off... :lmao:
Well, the picture is in public domain so it is not private property so anyone can use it, I guess.
The point really isn't the price, for me anyways. Some tanks can't accommodate the size or flow of the WP40, thus the WP25 is a suitable choice.
I believe Ecotech sells the Vortechs at a tiered price because that's how US companies do it. It should cost them relatively close to the same to build all three of their pumps, but they bump of the price because 1) people are used to paying more for more features of a higher tiered product and 2) because people buy them. It is my opinion most Chinese manufacturers sell items for what they need to make a profit on them, which is why we see these all right around $100. If not, the WP40 would be $200.
