I think I've got enough rock. I just don't want to trash the rock that I've got that I won't be using, and I want to be sure there are no little beasties on it before I'd consider selling it.

It's hard to know if I've enough rock, or even too much, until I can get it in the tank and start playing. I've had a bunch cooking for the last 4-6 weeks or so. If I do need a few more pieces, I'll definitely let you know, hopefully this weekend or early next week.

You get to do anything today?

I emailed Keith last night but havn't heard from him,

Not much. Still working on the plumbing. Actually went to bed at 11 last night, which is a good 2+ hours earlier than normal. And, I'm busy cleaning up the house for another showing. It looks like we may be getting more than 1 offer in soon. Wouldn't you know it, 11 months with nothing, and I finally pop a hole in the wall to set up my tank, and we've got 3 couples that are very interested. I'll have an update this evening as my sump should show up this afternoon. :D

That is mixed good news :)/:(

Yeah, definitely mixed emotions at the moment. It will make life a little easier, but brings a couple of negatives.

Sounds like really good news minus not being able to set up the tank as soon as you would have liked. but it clears alot of money. BK external:)

 I don't know about that! Got lots of bills to pay off, and need $$$ to buy another house. Once things settle, I'll know if I can splurge.:D

I'll know more in the next couple of days hopefully. It is good news, but, as you mentioned, it'll stall the tank build again, and we have to sort out where we will move to. Santa Rosa would be closer to my parents, as well as my main office, but we really like Roseville and actually have friends out here. We've discussed it a few times, but haven't come to a conclusion yet. We'll figure it out whenever we get into escrow.

Yep. Picked up the sump at 4:30 today. It's already installed, but I'm not supposed to put water in it for awhile as it was just finished today. I'll get some pics up after I put Morgan to bed, and work on finishing up the plumbing in the house tonight. I still have to plumb the 4 way in. After that, it's a matter of pushing the lines through the wall and dealing with the garage plumbing, some of which will be temporary or unfinished until transfer time, as the skimmer and chiller are in use protecting the corals.
I'm hoping to close off the ball valves and leak test the tank tomorrow.

Heck, don't get too excited. It may be the only water the system sees for awhile, depending on the house situation.:( Who knows.

I am positive Poletti, not negative nanny.

Yeah, well what does positive Poletti do when either scenario has both a positive and a negative? In this scenario, we get a good offer, sell the house, but don't get to set up the tank.
Or, don't get a good offer, set up the tank, but don't sell the house.

Just call me negative nanny, I guess.:(

Alrighty then, a few pics of the new sump, ala Keith Grandt.

And here it is installed under the tank:

And here you can see the Sequence Wahoo that'll run the garage system (chiller, fuge, etc.) plumbed externally, and the Red Dragon 8.2 M3 submerged in the return section of the sump.

This sump is designed to have a settling area/filter sock area in the first compartment, skimmer/multi-use compartment in the middle, then baffles lead to the return compartment.

I guess if Positive Poletti sells the house, I would throw a bar b que for my friends. More specifically, after escrow closes I would invite them over for some 1" thick rib eyes
