Alright, thanks to Mark who stopped by after work and pretty much single handedly re-designed the rockwork while I BBQ-ed the steak for the family, here is the new and improved rockscape:

The pictures don't do it justice. I still need to pick up another small rock or 2 when I find something just right, to finish filling in a couple of spots.

I wish I had some of your area for my monties to grow out :D My tank is too full again.

I think I can help with that problem!:D

There is a ton of space for corals, both on the sand and on the rockwork. I've got a few frag stations that Mark took a dremmel to and notched out to fit around the front returns. They are just sitting loosely now, and even when installed, won't obscure the return nozzles. They'll make a great place for zoas and such to grow and then obscure the nozzles.

That is very nice, but a bit too minimalistic for me, and I definitely need more space to attach corals.:D

Me too :D

My suggestion - make one of the islands higher :)

That is what corals are for

Yeah, Jeremy and I discussed that. A tank needs room to grow in. If not, you are always cutting the longer branches.

I wish I had branches to cut. For now, I just hope that my rock island grows taller :lmao:

Jt, Good responce time on that PM i sent you this AM:)

Sorry about that Davey. I was in the car heading to Oakland this morning when I read it, and meant to respond when I parked but slipped my mind. PM inbound.

Well, I got the system return pump going, as well as the sequence pump running straight to the fuge, bypassing the chiller, as it's still in service on the other tank setup. I really need to do something about the drain noise!:(
I now realize that I did make a mistake in T'ing the 2 system drains together. If I had used 2 seperate lines, I could have used 1 submerged with a ball valve, and the 2nd as an emergency overflow. This would have prevented the air in the drain lines and the gurgling in the sump. As it stands now, I see 2 options.
1- reverse durso in the sump
2- cut the sump drain line above the water level and use a filter sock.
I will play with both tonight, and if neither work out to my satisfaction, I may try and work out a solution by relocating the sump into the garage. To do that, I'd have to drain the tank, re work some of the plumbing, and relocate my 60g drums. Not too pretty of a scenario, but I've got a few ideas on how to do it, and the plumbing wouldn't be very difficult, and it would reduce the # of lines running along the wall of the garage and back into the house. Still, that'll be a last resort, depending on the first 2 options. I'm also trying to nail down a used Velocity T-4 to replace the Sequence Wahoo. As quiet as it is, it'll always be audible.
I feel like with all the progress I thought I had made, and as much planning as was done, I'm not getting anywhere.

Some bad news. Apparently my flame wrasse decided to hop into the overflow on the tank he's in. Travelled all the way down into the filter sock, where I found him this evening. Apparently I didn't find him in time.:( Not been having too much luck with my fish lately.
