Is the manifold all the way open? Did you hook up your ozone yet?

Manifold? The skimmer's air intake is fully open, as is the drain line, if that's what you're referring to.

No, the ozone has been disconnected since I pulled the BK.

JT,

Dont flame just asking but that collection cup looks tiny, is it just the pic?

No problem Davey, but it's not tiny. It's 200mm(8") just like the BK was.

Thanks Rob. I've been planning for quite some time, but I've found a few little details that I would've changed if I had it to do over again. First would be a much less complicated closed loop:D and the second major one would have been to locate the sump in the garage like I had originally planned. That would have taken a bit of creativity, but I already see how I should have done it, but I'm not sure I want to go there with the likelihood of selling the house still overhead.

Don't worry, you could build another tank today and still find a better way to do it a month later:D You have a lot of good help here to guide ya!

 Tell me about it! I figure I'll try as many different ways of running things, failing(or not being completely satisfied), and becoming the "Experienced" reefer.

JT,

I've had several of my H&S's do that to me. I was told that putting vegetable oil in the holes helps keep them from clogging. Just a light coat.

I never tried it so I don't know if that will solve the problem or not but it is cheap enough to try :) . Would'nt that be nice if it worked :D A way to solve a problem on a reef tank and not have it cost you anything :D

Thanks Chad, I'll have to give that a try. Taking a drill to my H&S isn't something I'm keen on, even if it is just the lid. I will though if this keeps up. It definitely reinforces my decision to locate it in the garage, even if I did have to run another pair of lines down the wall.

New pic of the sump:
Tankbuild055.jpg

The quasi-standpipe in the middle is coming from the fuge, and will still get modified. Just playing around trying to reduce the bubbles which are more apparent in this next pic.

Also, I used Seachem Marine salt(not their reef version) on the water so far, and the primary specs per my Elos test kits are as follows:
kH - 8
CA - 500
Mg - 1100

Not too bad, but I prefer the alk and Mg to be a bit higher, so I'll have to adjust those prior to adding the corals.

Oh, and as you may have noticed in the first pic, I pulled the handles off of the BV's once I got them set where I wanted them, and the filter socks fit nicely over them. They fit with the handles on, but were more of a pain, so I removed them.:D

Looks sweet Jeremy!!

Do you run you phos and carbon reactors off of your overflow or incoming water into the sump?

If so that is a good idea and 2 lees pumps needed,
I might have to try that.

If you got anymore pics of that setup I would love to see them.

Tank is lookin sweet!!!!!

Chris, I run both off of the pump that goes out to the fuge/chiller so that I didn't need to deal with additional pumps.

That's all the pics I've got so far. I still need to install the lights in the canopy, but the LumenMax Elite reflectors won't start shipping until late next week. I also need to install the CaRx, chiller, skimmer, ozone, and Kalk Rx, but some of those are still in use on the garage system until this tank is ready. I'm at the point of "hurry up and wait" at the moment. The plumbing is all ready for most of the equipment, so all I will need to do is move it over and attach the pipes.
You're more than welcome to come over some time and check it out in person sometime.

I had played with that idea, but the whole microbubble situation scared me off.
