Why are you clearing out some of your coral, Mark? I wish I lived closer. I'd take a bunch off you.

well, debate out loud....

you make it sound sad...i hope its not sad.

hang in there.

Jim, you should totally get John's Duss!

John will not sell his Duss... I have tried more than once.

I have lost some of the fire. I know its about ups and downs, but I was thinking about this before the 180 and I still went through with the upgrade hoping things would change. My perception is not that positive and it seems like reefing has become a chore and not a hobby. I am going to discuss this with another reefer on Sunday as I will be taking some pictures of his beautiful tank.

It used to not all about the hunt, but that is what it has turned into. :( There are my thoughts out loud

Mark - you've got *PLENTY* of awesome pieces. Just sit back and enjoy! There's really no need to find all the LE pieces. Just look at me. I can't even name 90% of my SPS. I buy what looks nice to me, and enjoy. I don't care if everyone has it or if it's LE. :)

"When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn. "
- Harriet Beecher Stowe

hang in there mark. :)

My favorite pieces are not always LE's. They are the old pieces that everyone has killed and are harder to find. It used to be all about tracking down that coral and making a great network of reefers, but then it got to the point where I was tracking down 10-15 pieces at any one given time.

That is just how my mind works. If I can control it, usually I don't enjoy it and if I enjoy something, it usually means that I am not controlling it ;)

Oh stop it......... your set up is awesome and inspiring, with the ups and downs, you have pulled through in a major way, Your devotion to the hobby not only helps to cure your craving but helps to further excel and to preserve our hobby, you Mark have an obligation to propagate those corals, now suck it up and upgrade something....... there are my thoughts out loud

Thanks Jeremy for the pic, but as we talked the 20k in the tank would of been a great investment for emmas college fund :)
$20,000 at an average of 10% at 18 years of growth would be a great start for Emma's educational future.

Woulda, but a bit late for that. Sure you can recoup some of it, but not enough, and if you allow the tank to be a source of relaxation, it'll be well worth it. Plus, it's an eductional tool as well. See, I need some ammunition as well.

Now that the $ is spent, both you and Amanda are working again, sit down with me or your buddy and work on Emma's fund. Between you and Amanda, this hobby should never be about the $. Sit down and do the #'s. It'll take the stress out of it.

Once a price tag enters the situation, its hard to validate.

I already started her fund, "its called Emma's Jedi Mind Trick fund", but who knows. I am just tired.

Sorry Jim for this going down in your thread. Lets just kill this and stay tuned in the for sale forum.
