I've been driving this guy nuts for 3 months. Finally spoke with him today. Couldn't have been a nicer, more solid of a guy. A reef keeper as well as a carpenter. He's gonna begin construction on my canopy next week. Great ideas on ways to tweak it that a carpenter wouldn't think of. You need to have a tank to "get it". He's got a pictoral resume on RC that I've been following for some time, but it's spread all over several different threads.

If you've had something built by Joe, post it here so others will have one place to refer to when considering a custom stand or canopy.

I had the pleasure of working with Joe for over 14 years at the late American Axle plant.

He is an skilled tradesman and an even better wood worker. I whole-heartedly recommend his work!

I won't pass up an opportunity to give great feedback on Joe's work. I haven't had a stand built by Joe, but I had Joe and his partner Frank do a lot of work on our new house. They were both just excellent to work with, very fairly priced, and gave us such great quality. In fact, using our new kitchen for hosting holiday activities has been so nice that just yesterday I was thinking that I should spend a few minutes this weekend to find my old thread with these photos to bump up.

I absolutely plan to use these guys again in the future.

Well, my new canopy is done. I went out to Joe's house in Cheektovegas and picked it up yesterday am. Joe's house is a testament to how meticulous he is. His shop is imaculate. Very nice 75 gallon reef tank (complete with custom stand and canopy ;) )Heck of a nice guy. Can't recommend him enough.

He added a little feeding door for me as I'm going to have height issues when it's all said and done. Nice little innovation a non-reefer wouldn't have picked up on the need for it.

Here it is:

I had to wait on the stand. The boys at ABC are going to build it for me. I have the greenlight now though. Chris (acidraindrops) is currently constructing my overflow box for my Beananimal drain set up. So I still need to paint the tank, drill it, wire up the canopy with my lumenmax's and tek retro's.

Still got a way to go, but the big stuff is starting to come together nicely. I'm not rushing this one. When I moved last time, I got it all moved over and stuff got thrown together. This time, I'm tankless. All my stuff is being held for me. So I can really take my time and get it right the first time around.
