Just got my Haddon Carpet

Hi guys. Just picked up this neon green Haddoni carpet. I love it so much. I first wanted the red one, but it was a little too big for my tank. And too expensive for my first carpet.

I made a small corner for it. With some deeper sand. Trying to use the rock as a wall now. fingers crossed it likes this spot. It's has plenty shady places if it wants to hide.

Shall I move the MP10 a little higher? the LFS (the owner I know for awhile and knows his fish), suggest high flow. Most threads I read says low flow.. what do you guys think? All powerheads are off right now to help it attach.

I would move it to a spot away from the glass where it can spread out if it wants. Also I cringe when I see the pump right above it, ready to shred.

Ill move the mp10. All pumps are off now.

What do you mean where it can spread out? Where would u suggest?

Hey, nice Haddoni. I think the post above suggests that there isn't much room between live rock and glass for the nem due to its size...may need more space in depth.

Moved some rocks out and my freaked out jawfish dashed out and got caught. Only for a second on the tail.. i pulled it off. Got my hands stuck on it and now its itchy.. gotta get some gloves.

It'll stick to the gloves also. Close call are good for the fish, they'll learn quickly.

I wouldn't place it under a power head, too easy for it to climb up into it.

Don't get crazy with the flow, it'll move. I've noticed low flow for us, means high for the LFS.

thanks! I've turned the 2 powerheads on top of the carpet off. I'll figure something out tomorrow morning.

also took out all the rocks around it.

How long do they take to stick to a surface? This morning the foot is still just hanging there, not attached to anything.. everything else looks the same

Yup. 2 pumps are off. 1 pump is on low on opposite side pointing up. So hes not getting any movement. Its exactly as i placed it.

His mouth is a little open now. Stomach showing a little. Not a good sign.

I'm going to prepare a hospital tank just in case. Going to shop for some cipro too.

if the stomach continue to show for the next day or two, should I take it out for treatment?

I would also do my best to get those nitrates down. Way too high for sesnitive anemones. If you elect to treat and use tank water (as I would recemmend), that would go a long way towards lowering your levels.
