That's too bad - looks like it would have been a stunning specimin! Sometimes they just don't make it. As I noted earlier (at least, I think I did), I'm now in the camp of immediately treating all incoming mags regardless of how they look. OK, you may end up treating one unnecessarily, but you also may get ahead of an infection that would otherwise doom the animal.

I dont guess DD will treat it with Cipro but Drs really carried Fish Flox. Its mouth was in very bad shape, learning that from my first ritteri. For mag/gig, I don't guess dip is a good idea or you can dip with a dry one. But leaving it in the fouled water for hrs isn't a good idea for me. I used to dip but the results were bad. My only casualty of bta was dipped

Treatment brings stress too but I'm prone to treating, too. And I guess I'll stock a variety of antibiotics :deadhorse:
And this time I learned feeding is dangerous too so I'll cut feeding too. I checked in library the major food a mag has in the wild is planktons so I guess without target feeding there won't be a big problem. Since my 2 most wanted specimens both plankton eaters: mag and anthias, I'll try to diy a zen plankton reactor. The key is to get the right membrane.

Nope, I am going to wait a little while for my next one. Probably end of may/beginning of june timeframe. I may even take off 2 days of work just to give myself a 5 day time period to watch it even more. It is a very nice h. mag though.

So its really mag season now :bounce1: sadly I'm a one mag guy. My next target is a blue/green haddoni/gig. I'll try to make a sand box for it.
