Just ordered an H. Mag!

For Magnifica, as long as they don't start to slough of tissue resulting in cloudy water, they can be save. Good luck with him.
 
So the mag is not doing very good today at all, is it going to make it at this point? Really worried about it. Please let me know if there is anything I should do at this point to help it even more.

I've stopped all flow for now and leveled it out on the rock. I'm going to give it a little time to hopefully help it get ahold of the rock.

Edit: As soon as I turned the flow off and set flat on the rock the mouth has started going back to normal.

I would keep the flow on and just direct it as best as as you can away from the anemone. I don't think it's a good idea to stop the flow. If you look up my treatment thread you'll see that mine didn't show any improvements until a few days into treatment. If you don't see any improvements for a while I would look into switching to septra ds. OrionN has used that medication before and I believe he said he saw an improvement during the first day.

I started flow back up but it just literally falls over as soon as it comes on due to not sticking very well. I wedged it between a rock and a coffee mug to kind of help it stay in one spot due to this so hopefully that helps.
 
So has anyone had a mag this bad off and still have it live? As I go to bed it's still in the same shape as the last photo if not a little bit worse off.
 
Yes, I have had one look that bad and recover; but also had one not recover. Touch and go at this point. I'm increasingly of the opinion that one should HT mags regardless of how they look out of the shipping bag. You might try boosting med levels unless you wake to a pile of goo.
 
Hey brother, don't worry yet...I've had mags look way worse than that.

Listen, keep flow going but point it up at the surface of the water or block it too prevent direct flow from moving him around the tank. He's gonna be too weak at this point to keep himself stable.

Stick with the plan, make sure ur WC water is salinity matched and heated. If possible, use DT water, then just top off your DT. This will help the Mag and at the same time, your improving water quality in your display tank.

Also, don't move him at all. Only move him if he is face down. Then gently flip him over so he can get light. Moving him around a lot will make him worse. If he is on eggcrate, just leave him there.

Stay on track and keep doing the WC's and dosing 250mg per 10/G.

Only do 100% WC's if the water if getting real funky or cloudy. Otherwise do 50%.

Siphon out all detritus when your doing WC's.

Stay with it, keep taking pics.

Yes, block the flow from moving him, but keep it going. Point ur PH up or in any direction that keeps him stable, but keep the flow going.
 
Woke up, the tank is really cloudy so it's hard to get a shot of the Anemone. Should I do a 100% WC? I know in the treatment instructions it says wait until night cycle to do the WC/Cipro dose but I feel like it needs the WC.

This image you can tell how cloudy the water is, hard to get a good shot of the mouth of the Anemone.

Also what is the best way to do a 100% WC without touching the anemone? Remove as much as possible from the tank without having the anemone out of the water, then add more water and take more out after?

I doesn't exactly have to be 100%. Bring the water level down to the top of the NEM and that will be 90-95%. Yes, dose another 250mg. Use DT water if possible. If he is still looking like this tomorrow, I would go up to 500mg. What size tank do you have him in? What kind of powerhead and lighting?

4 Bulb T5 lighting & natural lighting for half the day period, 10G tank and a 500 GPH aqueon powerhead that I bought on the fly from petsmart. I usually have hydors but my older brother is using all right now. I will go ahead with the WC and dose another 250mgs, thanks.
 
Siphon the crap off the bottom, but don't get close to the NEM and risk sucking him up and causing trauma. Just get as much as possible. He still doesn't look horrible to me. I've had way worse. Keep a positive attitude and stick to Minh's protocol.

Sounds like ur doing everything right. Keep following protocol and checking back with us.

I got a couple in QT too. A Haddoni and Mag. Both doing well now. :-)

There is none. Any type of bacteria in the water will be killed by the cipro so using liverock to try and help the process won't do anything. Heavy water changes are required.
 
There is no biological filtration. I recommend that we don't feed the anemone and do at least 50% water change daily. 100% water change daily if the anemone does not do well.
