Just realized - I never posted any pictures from our trip to FSM

Nothing to do but dive, eat and sleep...but everybody is very friendly and it's absolutely safe. I would go back in a heartbeat....

Thank you so much for your reply & for more photos! I've been checking back over the last couple of days hoping you'd come back to the thread.

Sounds like heaven to me! I've bookmarked your thread for for safekeeping. Now to convince the boyfriend that this is where we should go on our honeymoon. Ha!

honestly the most beautiful thing i have seen. if you dont mind how much did this trip run you?

I can't answer that accurately, I don't keep track of what we actually spent (maybe so I don't freak out, lol). But we pay very very little for airfare, which is one of the biggest expenses of these trips. My "other" hobby is strategically collecting frequent flyer miles without flying, which cuts off a big chunk of the overall price of the trip. I also do extensive research to get the best deal on hotels and cars, etc.

For our next trip to Australia, Papua New Guinea and Guam, we have confirmed tickets in business and first class worth $ 18,000.00. Cost me less than $ 400 for the 2 of us. And I already have enough Frequent Flyer miles for our 2013 trip which I think will have to be Raja Ampat....:)

You're killing me here! :D I looked at airfare & you're right, it's the lion's share of the cost. It ran a little over $2000 per ticket in coach, which I expected would be the case.

Seriously gorgeous pictures. I found an eco lodge on Khosre that was very reasonable, so airfare is definitely where the pain of the trip will be felt unless you're some kind of mastermind like you are, apparently. ;)

Those worms are just fascinating. You posted another pic of those on purpose, didn't you? Haha!

The Xmas tree worms where amazing, there was soooo many, I ended up playing with them, fanning my hands over them to make them close up, I could have spend hours....

We stayed at "Pacific Tree Lodge", google it....In my opinion better than the Eco Lodge (Air Con and WiFi) and a great restaurant...Room around $ 100 a night and food reasonable. The reason the airfare is so high, Continental (now United) has the monopoly, no other airline flies there and they can charge whatever they want.....

That last pic with the island and landing strip, is that the Marshall Islands? My buddy was a contract cop there til about a year ago and that looks like a pic of the island he has shown me. Great pictures

Too cool. Amazing how you got to see so many fish we have in our reef tanks but in the wild. Really truly incredible! Mind if i make one of your pictures my computer background nvm already done! :P
