wow

I got a letter from them yesterday and I was extremely excited, I do see the point of loosing a place to get them, but as it turns out that chain of stores only gets those occasionally which sure went in to their decision not to purchase lobster tanks to use in their stores...their choice to stop selling them is more than likely cheaper than outfitting every store with a tank, and considering the loss they take every time a large percentage of their shipment dies before the sale it only makes sense to stop selling them...
Most people do not rely on Raley’s random lobster shipments for their dinners so I don't see it as a big loss.
I would guess that neither Minh nor Mike sit around waiting for Raley's to see these before going out and purchasing live lobsters, I'm sure you have a preferred place that at the very least has a tank to keep them in until the sale.
Like I said before, I love eating lobster; I just don't like to torture the creatures for days before I eat them.
here is the letter I received last night.
Alex,
You’ll be pleased to know that using the photos and info you armed us with, we mobilized our activists and members to contact Raley’s over their abuse of lobsters. In just over 24 hours, nearly 3,000 people e-mailed all of the top executives at Raley’s, asking them to discontinue their sale of live lobsters entirely. Well, Raley’s agreed, and has pledged to not sell live lobstersâ€"at allâ€"any more.
Your actions have resulted in countless animals being spared miserable lives in Raley’s stores and you should be very proud. Again, thanks so much for bringing this to our attention.
Best,
Matt Prescott
p.s. to anyone who says one person can’t make a difference…..
