juvi angel with HLLE

I've got a 3-4" juvi emporer angel that I've had for about a month. A couple of days ago, I noticed he has several spots that look like the beginning of HLLE. Tank parameters are: Temp 80, ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 0, pH 8.2. I was using carbon 24/7 but discontinued use when I saw the spots. I do weekly 10-12% water changes with RO water and IO. The fish eats;

Angel Formula frozen
Formula One frozen
Formula Two frozen
Prime Reef frozen
Spirulina Formula frozen
Brine Shrimp Plus frozen
Special Formula VHP (Very High Protein) frozen
Marine Cuisine Carnivorous Formula frozen
Mysis Shrimp frozen
Red Sea MarineGro enriched medium granules (fish is nuts over it)
Seaweed Selects 100% Macroalgae
Nori

He does not care for garlic but, I will add a vitamin supplement and I was told to try some broccoli florets. There is no stray voltage, I stick my hands in there without turning things off occassionally. Is there anything else anyone can recommend to help me nip this in the bud. I want to get it reversed immediately so he won't be scarred up.

it sounds like he has a good varied diet.

I add Zoe and Selecon as vitamins that have had good luck with them.

You might also consider the food as in how long you have had it.

Vitamins and minerals and just like everything else deplete over time; so if you have had it for a long time, more then 2 months then the food might not be that effective.

how do you store the flakes?

for my veggie eaters I always buy the small container becuase I only have 3 fish that eat flakes and I throw them away after 2-3 months if there is anything in the container. I also store mine in the freezer.

Its not as economical as the bigger the container the better price usually but the nutritional value will decrease.

With a fish like yours that eats such a variety and a lot of it is veggie based, I would suspect the food is older (who knows how long it sits on the shelf and what temperature it gets; to hot? before it gets purchased) and thus leading to less nutrition.

Thanks for the recommendation on the vitamins and age of foods. Carnivore formula, mysis, and marinegro granules were purchased in late December. All other frozen foods purchased in January. Nori and Macro purchased a few weeks ago. I looked at the frozen foods carefully for signs of thawing/refreezing and didn't see anything but who really knows for sure. I bought relatively small quantities because everything except carnivore formula, mysis, nori, macroalgae sheets, and marinegro came in a variety pack. All frozen foods are double bagged in freezer ziplock bags. The only things that came from a shelf are the macro sheets, nori, and marine gro, no idea on age but all were well sealed when purchased and I keep sealed. I purposely stay away from the flaked foods because they are high in things like phosphates but also for the reasons we're discussing.
